From the very beginning, the combination
of precision and speed when shooting has
held a particular fascination. The establishment of J. P. Sauer & Sohn in 1751 marked
a new era of target accuracy and marksmanship, when Johann Paul Sauer and his
son Paul laid the foundation for manufacturing long gun and handgun technology in
Germany. Today the gun factory meets the

Ralf Vanicek is also a PPC world champion,
and has the advantage of being skilled and
knowledgeable in both competitions and
production processes. The SIG SAUER
shooting range is continually used to test
how modifications in pistol design affect
shooting behaviour and comfort.
World-renowned top shooters – Heribert
Bettermann, Max Wiegand, Joachim von
der Tann, Tino Schmidt, Marijan Loch and
Andreas Köhler – are active members of
the IPSC team and constantly contribute
their experience to the future development
of successful sport guns. They have won
innumerable national and international
titles as a team and in individual competitions. The team has been the reigning
German Champion in the Production Class
from 2001 to 2008.
Torben Rundqvist, Thomas Klix and Ralf
Vanicek are members of the SIG SAUER
PPC Team. Ranked among the best of
world-class PPC marksmen, these multiple
international and national record holders
have been German, Swedish and World
Champions in various disciplines of the
