Diplome Inter-Universitaire de Mastologie
In 2012 MANOSMED in collaboration with Montpellier University (France)
created the MANOSMED DIU (Diplome lnteruniversitaire) de Mastologie.
MANOSMED, as the Mediterranean Association is the exclusive official
provider of the Mastology education that leads to this Diploma offered to
physicians, residents and health practinioners who register to the MANOSMED
courses taking place in different Mediterranean countries. The courses
organized by MANOSMED are accredited by the Montpellier University and
the Senologic International Society.
The first course to be academically recognized was the course in Tartous, Syria,
in 2009. Beginning in 2011, two courses per year were organized, one in spring
and the other in autumn, giving more chances to candidates to complete the
course and obtain the Diploma.
The full Post-graduate Course consists of 4 Modules:
1. Breast, disease and basic science
2. Benign breast diseases
3. Early breast cancer
4. Advanced breast cancer
Each Manosmed Course is a 3-day event and covers one (1) Module.
It consists of approximately 25 hours of didactic lectures, seminars and case
discussions followed by a multiple choice question examination.
The Lectures and the Examination are given in English or in French.
Each course is equivalent to 10 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and
Accumulation System) and are transferable to all recognized European
Universities.
All four (4) Courses (100 teaching hours) passed with success are necessary for
the diploma (DIU) delivered by Montpellier University.
Invitation by the Course President
Dr Andreas Patsalides, MD, PhD
MSc in Health Management
Assoc. Professor at Mediterranean Mobile University
President of Cyprus Course
Dear Health Professionals
Dear Colleagues
Dear Friends
It is a pleasure and an honour for me to invite you to participate in the Mastology
Course organized by MANOSMED and the Meditteranean Mobile University.
The theme of the seminar is “Breast Basic Science and Basic Management of
Breast Cancer” and is part (Modul 1) of the Postgraduate Diploma in Mastology
granted by the University of Monpellier, France, when a candidate participates in
the 4 Modules of the Course and passes the exam at the end of each seminar.
A Mastology Seminar is organized every 6 months in one of the 21 country
members, has a duration of 3-4 days and covers 1 of the 4 Modules.
You may participate to increase your knowledge and skills in mastology, to cover
the needs of continuous medical education (CME), to meet the breast specialists
from the Mediterranean countries, or candidate for the MANOMEDI DIPLOMA
of Montpelier University.
At the Seminar you will witness the solidity of the scientific information and the
utility of the professional knowledge and expertise. The renowned invited speakers
and the Manosmed Faculty Professors guarantee for that.
I anticipate your participation; your presence and interactivity will enrich the
quality and the vitality of the Seminar. Success of the Course will enable us to
organize another Modul of the Course in Cyprus in the near future.
Greetings from the Manosmed President
Dr Stephane Zervoudis, MD, PhD
Gynecologist – Breast Surgeon
Professor at Mediterranean Mobile University
President of MANOSMED
Vice-President of Cyprus Course
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is a great pleasure and honour for me to invite and welcome you in the
marvelous island of Cyprus, a country in the middle of the Mediterranean sea rich
in 5000 years of great civilization.
I would like to congratulate the organizers and especially the course director,
Prof. Andreas Patsalides, who continues to combine high quality and expert
professionalism, along the legendary Cypriot hospitality, and I was always sure
he would organize a wonderful course.
Cyprus is very rich in history and culture and I hope that you will take this
opportunity to discover this marvelous country and its extraordinary diversity.
Moreover, the nice weather of Pafos will allow you to have a good time.
I am sure you will enjoy the lectures by the famous experts in the medical field of
mastology, coming from various Mediterranean countries, in this Manosmed
course.
I wait to see all of you in the next two courses, in October 2015 in Beirut,
Lebanon, which will be organized by Prof. Negib Geahchan covering Module 3
(early breast cancer), and in November 2015 in Montpellier, France, for the DU
“Maladies du sein et depistage” which counts also for the MANOSMED Diploma.
I will be very happy to welcome you in our Mobile University and I rely on you to
promote MANOSMED and its principles: freedom, equality and solidarity.
