A Trailerable Houseboat
ALIEN TRAILERABLE HOUSEBOAT They’re out of this world ALIEN TRAILERABLE HOUSEBOATS The hull is constructed from hollow aluminium planks identical to those used in “oyster punts” and sturdy work vessels used by oyster farmers, the “State Emergency Services”, “Rural Fire Services” and other emergency agencies. These “oyster punt” bodies are extremely strong and very buoyant and are designed for stability and their ability to carry very heavy loads of machinery and equipment. These flat-bottom punts also have an extremely shallow draft (only need 150 to 200mm of water). The superstructure is made of fully-welded aluminium box section and covered with fully welded marine quality aluminium sheeting. The whole vessel is painted with 1st quality paints and non-slip decking finishes. DESIGN The “A L I E N “ was not designed to look like a caravan on pontoons. The fully registered design is ultra sleek and aerodynamic to perform well in windy conditions. The interior layout as well as the unique ‘drawbridge style’ swim platform is also protected by design patent. The view from inside is continuous ALIEN Trailerable Houseboats are built to last with only slim pillars obstructing. The marine windows have been designed to allow maximum enjoyment of the outside landscape whilst not allowing a lot of heat when the vessel is locked up. The cabin is fully insulated. With a window or two open to catch the cool breezes that normally occur on water, air conditioning is not required. Flyscreens are fitted to all windows. Blinds give privacy at night. During the daytime, the heavily tinted glass do not allow people to see inside the houseboat. INTERIOR Ultra-modern interior design includes large galley with gas stove, fridge and sink; compact bathroom cubicle with extra shower headroom, wash basin and marine toilet.; full-time double couch at front, dinette (converts to double bed), double-couch (converts to double bed) and single couch in living area.; ample storage overhead and under seats. A trailerable houseboat? WHY? Because people like options and variety, one week, North, the other week, South. There are so many waterways to explore! By being able to tow your houseboat to wherever you want to go, you do not have to book accommodation, you can stop anywhere along the way or in a caravan park ! FLEXIBILITY ! And if you don’t want to use the trailer, you can have your houseboat delivered by tow truck, park your houseboat outside your waterfront home, or on a mooring. No need to antifoul, just pull it out of the water every so often. Aerodynamic shape, Why? It can get very windy in the middle of some of our lakes. We’ve seen other houseboats struggle to steer. That’s why we have the aerodynamic shape, combined with twin engines and 2 keels to keep our houseboats “ on track”. What’s wrong with an ultra-modern look anyway? We didn’t want another square box on pontoons anyway !! Flat bottomed punt , is that good? A lot of our waterways, creeks and lakes are very shallow. Being flat-bottomed means you can go where most people can’t !. And.... wait till you see how easy you can pull up on a sandy bank and jump out without wetting your toes ! For our critics, yes we have incorporated into our exclusive design 2 small keels which help improve steering as well as protect the underside of the boat when being pulled onto the back of a slide-truck.!( yes you can get your Houseboat picked up and delivered by tow truck, similar to a common “site shed.”) Launching and retrieving The houseboat merely floats off the trailer. To retrieve, you “drive on “ to the trailer, between the guides fitted to the trailer. Towing, how easy is it? To tow it regularly, you will need a decent 4-wheel drive with electric brakes because the total weight of the houseboat and the trailer just exceeds 2000KG. In the state of NSW, you do not require a permit to tow as the width of the houseboat is under 2500mm. Towing the houseboat is like towing a caravan of the same size.
