The most common feedback included the following requests: • Fenced in dog area, with increased seating • Upgrades to the playground: natural play, climbing structures, water features, zipline • Improvements to the skate park • Lighted areas – walking paths, park areas, leash optional area • More seating – picnic tables and benches, community picnic area • Community gardens • Water fountains, for people and dogs • Improvements to sports fields – grading, better maintenance, more seating • More trees Next Steps Based on what we hear from you this fall, the City will finalize a plan to guide future improvements to this park. These improvements will be phased over a number of years. The playground would be moved out from under the tree canopy. A ‘Play Box’ near the skate park will be stocked with play equipment that can be borrowed for use in the park. This flat, sunny site in Vic West Park is proposed as a future space for a community garden, to be designed and managed by a local community group.
