Using parallel research from FairWeather’s
sister division, Leader/Leander Health
Technologies, we have incorporated this
broad knowledge of biomechanics of the
spine to create one of the site furnishing
industry’s first ergonomic benches. To
our knowledge no other manufacturer of
benches has provided an ergonomic back
and seat that is designed to promote correct posture and provide excellent lumbar
and leg support. Sitting in a bench with
these ergonomically correct enhancements will ensure the comfort and correct posture of the user. This special
Ergo design is available on request with
the Plaza Series, models PL-4 and PL-5
benches; and the Esplanade ES-2 and
ES-3 benches. Ask about Ergo availability
with our other benches.

Basic information on the benches that
are currently available with the special
Ergo back and seat configuration is listed
to the right.
PL-5 Bench
The Plaza Series, model PL-4 and PL-5
benches have ductile cast iron end
frames with circular detailing. Both can
be fabricated with the special Ergo back
and seat design, which provide formed
straps that are ergonomically correct.

ES-2 Bench
The ES-2 and ES-3 Series benches are
fabricated with 1/2” solid round bar fully
welded to specially designed brackets.
When the Ergo design is specified, the
configuration is manufactured to promote
correct sitting posture.

The TE-CT Café table is designed for
use with any of three different seating
options to meet specific project needs.
This includes the TE-C, TE-LS and TE-LSB

The TE-LS backless loveseat and TE-LSB

Thea Foss Series
For sites with split landscapes – multiple
views or points of interest, the Thea Foss
bench features a movable back allowing
the user to face either direction by simply
moving the back of the bench and changing the seated viewing spectrum by 180
degrees.

Plaza Series
The ductile cast iron end frames with
their circular detailing define the PL-4
and PL-5 grouping as the most classic in
form of the Plaza series benches. The
benches incorporate the strong, graceful
steel strap seat sections common to all
of the Plaza series.

PL-4 and PL-4H benches have
ductile cast iron end frames with
semi-circular detailing. The PL-4
seat is fabricated with formed straps
in the vertical plane. The PL-4H
seat is fabricated with straps in the

cast iron end frames with complete circle
details. Both are fabricated with formed
straps in the vertical plane. The PL-5 is
a bench with back. The PL-1.5 is the

The graceful curves and clean lines of the
Pacifica Series provide a pleasing accent
for contemporary sites. The end frames
for the PA-1 backless bench and the PA-2
bench with back are fabricated with 1/2”
x 2” curved steel bar. The seat sections are
fabricated with 1/4” x 1-1/2” steel straps.
TR-11
The TR-11 trash receptacle has a 35 gallon
black polyethylene liner and a hinged side
opening with a self latching door for easy
access. A rain shield is also available.
Ask about the complementary PTR-11
planter.

AU-11 Ash Urn
The AU-11 ash urn completes the
Pacifica Series and is an asset in areas
where smokers congregate.
This style is available as a TR-11MTA

Light emitting diode (LED) efficiency gains
took hold in 2002 allowing LED bulbs to be
used for specialty illumination. In the past
several years the technology has exploded—moving it from an array of small, single
“flash” type applications used in traffic control
and barricade lights, pedestrian and hazard
signals, automotive lights and message boards
—to use as a replacement for many of today’s
common light applications.

While LED technology has actually been in
use since the 1960’s, most early uses were
limited to small electronic devices. As the
technology progressed, additional colors
and wavelengths became more available.
In the late 1980’s the technology advanced
again with the use of laser diodes and further
refinements. In the 1990’s further applications
applied LED’s and the technology continued
its rapid improvement.

Today, LED light sources are taking on many
shapes and sizes and are beginning to challenge
traditional light sources due to the long bulb
life—depending on color—ranging from 57,000180,000 hours (6.5-20 years 24/365). LEDs are
also compact and consume minimal power

Unlike steel, cast iron is inherently resistant to continued
corrosion. Standard unfinished ductile/gray iron will, over
time, develop an attractive patina which will not damage the
iron and requires no upkeep. Products can also be provided

It is recommended....
1/4” or heavier steel angle be used for framing all tree grates.
These are easy to install and can be provided for all shapes of
grates. Removable cross bars are also available for tree grates
with multiple castings per set or to increase frame support.
Expandable....
Most cast iron tree grates provide the advantage of being easily
expandable without losing their structural integrity. Over the
years as the tree trunks become larger, the tree opening can be
enlarged in increments to accommodate the growth. The best
method is to remove the radial spokes at the junction of the
expansion rings.
Security Bolting....
The best security a tree grate can have is inherent in its own size and weight. For additional security, most grates can be bolted
with flathead screws, countersunk flush with the grate surface. Various tamper-resistant bolts are also available, if required.

7) Corrosion Resistant Undercoating is strongly recommended a) in areas where salt air or spray is present b) in areas where the streets and sidewalks are frequently treated with salt in the winter months c) in areas where high humidity is consistently present d) on products that will be powder-coated a lighter color such as white, gray or yellow.
8) Unless otherwise specified, powder coating is a standard FairWeather or Foundry color.
9) Foundry items are quoted and provided bare, unless otherwise noted.

FairWeather Product Warranty
Except for its 5 year non-prorated warranty against defects in materials and workmanship FairWeather offers no other stated warranties.
Certain third-party purchased parts are generally covered under a separate manufacturer's warranty.
If the finish is subject to a salty or corrosive environment of any nature (i.e.: roads, sidewalks or other areas that are salted or where
other snow melting agents (corrosive material) is used for snow or ice removal; ocean shore areas where installations are near or around
saltwater environments; and other environments where extreme humid conditions persist that may cause corrosive conditions), the
product must have a corrosion resistant undercoat.
Claims are subject to inspection by FairWeather Site Furnishings or its authorized representatives. Repair or replacement will be determined solely by FairWeather Site Furnishings after its or any of its authorized representatives inspection of the warranted products.
FairWeather is not responsible for loss or damage in transit. The consignee must file a claim against the carrier for loss or damaged
products.
Olympic Foundry products will be warranted for a period of one year after receipt of order. This warranty shall cover replacement of
any product due to manufacturer's defect. Such defects include and are limited to cracks, casting flaws, and undue porosity resulting
in casting failure or breakage. This warranty is only applicable to casting if failure occurs under normal and intended usage. If casting is
modified in any way this warranty is null and void without written authorization from Olympic Foundry or Fairweather Site Furnishings,
its exclusive distributor of decorative castings. Olympic Foundry and FairWeather Site Furnishings are not responsible for improper
installation. Due to variable conditions, paint and powder coated finishes are not covered under this warranty.

FairWeather
Standard Colors
Metal
Sky White*
All steel support straps, pipe, etc., shall be
wheel-abrated, drilled and formed for quick
assembly. All steel shall conform to ASTM A36
hot rolled steel. Most trash receptacle and
planter top rims shall be spun steel. Dome tops
shall be spun steel or galvanized steel, depending on the model. Cast end frames shall be
ductile cast iron.
Wood
Wood Elements may be fabricated from any of
the many available wood species. The woods
most often specified for FairWeather furnishings are vertical grain Douglas Fir, Western
Red Cedar, Ipe, a hardwood that works well
for both interior or exterior use. Also available
Tigerwood a very durable exotic hardwood that
is naturally resistant to rot and decay.
Protective Coatings
Metal
All metal components, following fabrication,
shall be cleaned and treated with an iron phosphate process prior to the coating application.
The protective color coating is either a polyester or polyester TGIC powder finish applied by
a dry electrostatic process. Following application, the metal parts are baked until properly
cured. This durable coating will be a minimum
of four mils thick on all surfaces.
Harbor Gray*
*PLEASE NOTE: Due to a possibility of the rust 'bleeding'
through lighter colors (*), corrosion resistant undercoat is
highly recommended for these powder coated finish colors.
Please call for a revised quote if any of these colors are needed.
All metallics are standard colors which require a clearcoat.
Evergreen
Bollard receivers, receiver covers and lockwell
covers are hot dip galvanized after fabrication.
Recycled plastic offers an environmentally
friendly alternative to wood. It is practically
maintenance free and will sustain its color and
appearance for years. Our recycled plastic
is made from purified high density polyethylene, such as milk containers, and includes
UV inhibitors to reduce fading. It will not rot,
warp, splinter or crack. Standard colors are
cedar, gray, dark brown and weathered wood.
All wood elements for exterior use are treated
with a clear wood preservative unless otherwise
specified. For interior use, wood elements shall
be treated with Watco oil.

surface mounting. The pedestal mount is available where an embed mount is needed or for
surface mounting with the receptacle elevated.
