YOU WON’T CUT
CRIME BY CUTTING
THE POLICE FORCE.
COUNCILMAN STRICKLAND
HAS A DANGEROUS
PLAN TO UNDERCUT
THE MEMPHIS POLICE
Councilman Jim Strickland claims one of his top priorities
is reducing crime, but his 8 year record as a Memphis City
Councilmember tells a different story.
• He said that if he’s elected mayor, he would fire Police Director
Toney Armstrong.1
• The Commercial Appeal reported in May 2013 that during a
council meeting, Strickland advocated an end to “full-service”
policing, which would lead to fewer police officers.2
• Strickland said that the police force could “handle a budget cut”
and voted to decrease police funding by $5.9 million.3
ON OCTOBER 8, VOTE “NO”
ON JIM STRICKLAND FOR MAYOR.
