CALCIUM PLUMBATE PRIMER- INTRODUCTION USES * * * Top quality galvanised iron primer Excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance * * Essentially a primer for new galvanised iron surfaces. Provides an excellent primed surface for topcoating directly with Sparcolux Roof Paint or Sparcolux Iron Oxide Roof and Structural Paint on galvanised iron roofs or Sparcolux Universal Undercoat and/ or Sparcolux Enamel on galvanised iron cladding . Provides an excellent primed surface for topcoating with conventional paints GENERAL DATA Type Drying time @ 25°C Recoating Viscosity Specific gravity Gloss Volume solids Weight solids Recommended dry fiIm thickness Spreading rate (theoreticaI) Oil based, containing a minimum of 30% calcium plumbate as the anti-corrosive pigment Surface: 8 - 10 hours Hard: 40 - 45 hours 24 hours ( overnight) 70 - 80 Krebs Units 1,46 - 1,50 Eggshell 50 - 52% 70 - 72% 25 - 40 microns ( 1,0 - 1,6 mils) 12 - 20 sq.m/ litre COLOUR RANGE Cream APPLICATION Thinner Ready for use with brush or roller. This product should not be sprayed. Not normally thinned, but if necessary use Mineral Turpentine only. Brush/Equipment wash Sparcolux Brushwash/Degreaser or Mineral Turpentine. 2/ PRODUCT DATA SHEET Sheet 2 PROCESS DETA l LS Surface Preparatio n Priming Practical spread ing rate New galvanised iron surfaces must be precleaned with Sparcolux Brushwash/ Degreaser, prior to the application of this product. Apply one coat for new work in accordance with the Practical Spreading Rate given below. For general maintenance, spot prime all bare areas. 9 - 15 sq. m/ l itre will give 25 - 40 microns dry (1 ,0 - 1,6 mils) allowing for 25% wastage over the Theoretical Spreading Rate. PRECAUTIONS Not recommended for application to aluminium and light metal surfaces. FLASH POINT 37°C ( 98° F) PACK SIZES 25 Iitres 5 Iitres
