Light Trace Performance
FireTrace®software is a unique technology for analysis and evaluation
of the light reflection of the diamond.
Use of the Firetrace® software with OGI's Scanox instruments is the
first stage in the diamond's light reflection estimation process.
In a matter of seconds, the system illustrates a graphic image of the
upper and lower sections of the diamond as well as the amount of
light reflection projected from the geometrical shape of the diamond.
The reports regarding light performance of the diamond produced
by the Firetrace® software are based on three factors:
Brightness: Describes the refractions and reflections of white light
coming from the diamond in "face-up" position. Brightness is created
primarily when light enters through the table, reaches the pavilion
facets and is then reflected back out through the table, where the
light is most visible to your eyes.
Fire: Describes the fiery, rainbow color–flashes emanating from the
diamond. This is white light broken-up into the colors of the spectrum.
Scintillation: Describes the refraction and reflection of the light that
flashes on and off as the diamond, the observer or lighting move.

The SymCut software automatically

This system can identify asymmetry spots in ALL stages of diamond
polishing, which enables the polisher to perform a precise
repairment of the gem, so as to achieve the best possible symmetry
and proportion grades along with the highest yield.
Up till now, grading of symmetry in polished diamonds was done
visually by a gemologist using a microscope, which required of the
gemologist a great deal of mastery and time for grading the
symmetry of a diamond.

Ultimate Diamond Re-Cutting
For the first time in the world, OGI is launching advanced re-cutting
software that recommends the optimal re-polish of a diamond based
on its actual 3D model!
The Smart Recut software bases its calculations on measurements of
all parts of the actual stone, its proportion, symmetry, culet, girdle and
even knife. This software then recommends the optimal repairment of
the stone, enabling maximization of the possible weight even before
polishing..

The software presents 3D live simulation of the changes that will be
made to specific facet. This aids to fixing only the part of the diamond
that is necessary for upgrading the stone.
The Smart Recut software allows the diamond dealer to make
repairments to its diamond based on the standards of leading labs

Light Trace Standard
OGF - Light Trace Standard, has been developed in the company’s
laboratories as a result of extensive research and has been found to
be the optimum analysis and evaluation of the light reflection of the
diamond. This standard has been implanted into various systems of
our company.
This Light Trace Standard is based upon data containing a great
amount of combinations made up proportionately by various factors
on the diamond facet, such as: total depth, table size, crown angle,
crown height, pavilion angle, pavilion depth, lower-half, star length
and culet.

SOFTWARE
The use of Light Trace Standard in
the rough stone's software enables
maximal evaluation of the light
performance in the stone.
This assists in obtaining the
optimum weight and light reflection
when the diamond is still in its rough
condition.
To estimate the degree of light
reflection contained in a diamond,
you can use OGI's software.
In a few seconds the system presents
the amount of light reflection
projected from the geometrical shape
of the diamond.
If you wish to obtain excellent light
refraction and reflection standards,
it is possible to undertake a new
evaluation of the stone after each
recut until obtaining a perfect
standard.
This technology is highly beneficial
to gemological institutes as an
additional tool in evaluating the
stones according to their light
reflection properties.
