July 11th: Anger: You Are the Director of Your Behavior Through this interactive presentation participants will examine their skills and strengths they have to become powerful over the anger within and to develop positive relationships with those that matter i.e. spouse, boss, children, friends, and relatives. July 18th: Four Stages of Anger in Children and Adults-There are predictable patterns of anger from build up to explosion in children. Each stage provides an opportunity to diffuse the child’s anger. Adults can identify patterns to help move forward in choices to control anger. July 25th: Anger: Guiding Principles for Personal FreedomParticipants are introduced to options for seeking freedom, love, happiness, and peace. Personal change is the fundamental outcome of this class. October 19th: 1,2,3 Magic: Effective Discipline Ages 2-12 Part II– Participants will review Part I of 1, 2, 3 Magic and the six types of testing and manipulation children use on adults. The six “start” behavior tactics will be discussed and practiced. October 18th: Exploring the 40 Developmental Assets and the Role of Parents as Asset Builders - The Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets are common sense, positive experiences that represent the relationships, opportunities and personal qualities that young people need in order to avoid risks and thrive. The training takes a close look at the developmental assets and ways to create an intentionally rich asset-based program that involves parents as asset builders.
