I rededicated my life to Him in January of 2014. What caused me to open my eyes was spending two weeks in the Guymon, Oklahoma jail for getting a DUI. All I took with me in there was my Bible and Joyce Meyers book “Battlefield of the Mind.” I prayed for years that God would make it obvious when I needed to stop living the way I was and to follow Him, and that’s exactly what He did. ia D c a a a n d Is z Amateur Three-time Florida state high school saddle bronc riding champion, 2003-05. We have a 12 year old blue healer dog that we call our daughter, her name is Sadie. I grew up idolizing Mike Fletcher who was a seven time southeastern saddle bronc champ and and IPRA world champion in 1983. Mike is also a preacher and leads a cowboy church in Mineola, Texas called Spur On Ministries. I grew up calling him Uncle Fletch cause he was like an uncle to me. I credit most of my rodeo accomplishments to him. He is a great bronc rider and he uses the success that God gave him in rodeo to reach the hearts of unbelievers. I also attended two Etbauer schools that helped me a lot. I now compete in Saddle Bronc riding and team rope a little in my spare time. God has a sense of humor and has a way of keeping you humble on the way to the NFR. Several years ago I was at a rodeo in Marianna Florida and it was freezing cold and raining and the arena was a foot deep in mud and my friend Bill told me, “Isaac, it sure is muddy out there,” and was kinda chuckling when he said it. I popped off and said back, “The only thing that’s gonna get muddy on me is my boots, Bill.” Well, as soon as the gate opened my horse rared out and fell broadside and soaked me from head to toe in mud. I learned right there that God has His little ways of keeping us humble. Diaz Family Photo 4 I have also seen many times how He orders our steps and also has His hand on our family and every situation we face. My parents have been trying for the last eight years to get my dad’s job to transfer him to Texas somewhere close to me and Britany. They have prayed over and over that God would get them the transfer. It seemed like every time it would look it’s just not always as quick as we would hope. But that’s what promising, the door would shut and the transfer wouldn’t go makes it His plan, and not ours. through for ridiculous reasons. My parents finally decided that God was telling them He wanted them to stay in Florida and My favorite verse is Proverbs 27:17. “As iron sharpens iron, they stopped pursuing the transfer. After about a year or so, so one man sharpens another.” This verse can be used in they felt like God was telling many different aspects of life Britany and Isaac Diaz them to try just one more and it encourages me to study time, so they put in for the the Word of God harder and transfer, not really expecting keep my knowledge of the anything to happen. Not even Word sharp so that I will never a week went by and dad remiss an opportunity to sharpen ceived an email saying that not others in their time of need. only did he get a transfer but Also, the book by Joyce Meyers he got one to the exact town, “Battlefield of the Mind” has for the exact position they helped me focus better when I were hoping for, and he had was reading the Word. It helps one month to get out to Texas me keep focused on what train to start his new job. After God of thought to approach every opened that door, He’s been day with, and to not fall short opening many doors for them of the Godly stature we are since, leaving no doubt that expected to uphold. I also love they are doing exactly what to listen to “God’s Not Dead” He wants. They just closed on by Newsboys. We as believers their beautiful new home last need to share that Word with Friday. God always has a plan, as many people as we can. Diaz Family Photo 5
