Allergy & Asthma Today magazine is the official publication of AANMA. AANMA is committed to providing its members with truthful and scientifically supportable advertising, information and editorial content. To that end, advertising must adhere to the following criteria: l Allergy & Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics (AANMA) is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating suffering and death due to asthma, allergies, and related conditions. Nancy Sander founded the organization in 1985 after years spent struggling to manage her daughter’s severe allergies and asthma. AANMA’s core areas of expertise are education, advocacy and community outreach. Advertised products must make no written or visually implied health claims that cannot be scientifically substantiated. l We do not accept advertising for any therapies that do not have scientific evidence supporting claims made or implied. l All advertising is subject to preapproval by AANMA, the Allergy & Asthma Today review board and/or medical advisory board. Advocacy: 2004 highlights include lifesaving federal and state legislation on behalf of students with asthma and anaphylaxis, exposure of unregulated asthma and COPD medications, and groundbreaking Medicaid patient/provider research. Outreach: AANMA reaches new communities every year. Our annual Asthma Awareness Day Capitol Hill highlights critical issues that need national attention. Nurse Christy, AANMA’s nurse educator, responds to patient concerns by phone and e-mail. AANMA’s Hispanic Outreach Program includes Spanish-language materials and a volunteer network. And thousands of other volunteers take AANMA to local neighborhoods. All advertising materials should be shipped securely packed and identified as to issue(s) of insertion, advertiser, agency of record and any special instructions. Materials received for insertion will not be released until after publication of issue. Requests for return of materials must be done in writing. Please allow 48 hours for processing. Publisher will otherwise keep all materials on hand for one full year following original date of insertion. All materials are destroyed one year after last insertion. Production Charges Editorial changes, typesetting, conversion, composition, artwork, color separations, digital file output, reverses and strip-ins will be done at request and charged back to the client. Design Specifications and Digital Requirements Editorial Mission Allergy & Asthma Today helps consumers create a healthier tomorrow with timely, practical and medically accurate strategies to overcome, not just cope with, asthma and allergies. We offer consumerfriendly resources and advice to help families make informed decisions. If supplying ad as a FreeHand or Illustrator EPS file, all images should be embedded and fonts converted to outline. If supplying files in Quark, PageMaker, or InDesign, all fonts, logos, and graphics should be included on disk. Editor in Chief Four-color ads must have all images converted to CMYK. RGB and Pantone spot colors are not acceptable. Required Velox linescreen should be at 133. Live matter should be .25" from trim. She is a frequent speaker at conferences nationwide and testifies at the national and state level on patient rights to safe, reliable medications and health care. TIF and JPG files are acceptable. Must be saved at 300 dpi resolution, CMYK, at 100%. Bleeds should be included.
