Now that we are in our beautiful new location, we are looking to add some artwork that will help to brighten up our new space. We are looking to create a piece, with feedback from patients and families on what words represent their thoughts, feelings and experiences of rehab services. this issue What does “IWK Kids’ Rehab” mean to you? This event is presented by the Province of New Brunswick and TD Bank Group and takes place August 19th-21st 2016 at the Delta Beauséjour in Moncton, NB. If you are a youth living with a disability aged 15-24 and living in Atlantic Canada, you are invited to attend this inspirational and engaging summit. Join other youth living with a disability, their families, caregivers, and professionals from the field of disability and Post Secondary Education from across Atlantic Canada as we challenge your mindset and inspire you to dream big and fulfill your potential. The program provides teachers with free resources to educate students about sports for athletes with a disability and learn about Canada’s involvement in the Paralympic Games. Students gain a positive perception of people with a disability through introduction to a variety of inclusive ways to get active and get involved in parasport. Last year we had over 300 schools participate and we would be thrilled to have you involved in this year’s Paralympic Schools Week taking place April 25-29, 2016. After retiring from competition, she worked as a coach and mentor to the UK Athletics team at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. An accomplished, bilingual public speaker, Petitclerc recently completed an appointment as Team Canada’s Chef de Mission for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
