Urgent and Emergency Care (A&E) St. George’s are just below the 95% urgent and emergency Care (A&E) target for all type patients in August. However, the target by the CCG. St. George’s is on track to achieve the all types target for quarter 2 and is achieving the target for the year to date. Referral to Treatment (18 Weeks) The target for 18-weeks referral to treatment time for admitted patients is currently below target. This is expected as NHS England has requested that all Trusts focus on reducing their waiting lists between June and September 2014. St. George’s has a clear plan to reduce waiting lists and recover performance by September 2014, which has been agreed by the CCG and is closely monitored through the System Resilience Group (SRG). The SRG also monitors performance against the urgent and emergency care target. Cancer Access St. George’s has not achieved 62-day cancer waiting time targets for all patients, including referrals from screening services. This is due to small numbers of referrals giving rise to a higher percentage of breaches. For all other referrals, there are ongoing issues with late referrals from other hospitals. St. George’s are working with referring centres to improve pathways and to improve tracking of referrals. Wandsworth Clinical Commissioning Group 9 Wednesday 8th October 2014 CCG Performance Key Messages Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Access and Recovery Rates The IAPT Access and Recovery Rates are improving, but remain below target. The Wandsworth Psychological and Well Being Therapies Service (PWBTS) is currently working with the NHS Intensive Support Team to model the service to understand demand and capacity and the needs of patients and plan changes to improve access and recovery rates. Wandsworth CCG is also participating in this exercise from a commissioning perspective. Additionally, the CCG is currently identifying independent therapy providers in Wandsworth who do not currently submit data to the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) to ensure that all activity is captured and true performance can be measured. Dementia Diagnosis Rates The CCG has a target to diagnose 67% of its estimated number of people with Dementia by March 2015. The reported rate of 52.66% is as at March 2014 and is an improvement over the 2012/13 figure of 42.28%. Patients Waiting Over 52 Weeks Two Wandsworth patients have waited over 52 weeks for treatment in August. These patients were due to be seen at Trusts outside of South West London. The locations, specialties and reasons for the long waits are being investigated. Wandsworth Clinical Commissioning Group 10 Wednesday 8th October 2014 CCG Performance Key Messages Category A Ambulance Calls Ambulance response times are currently below target. This is due to a combination of a busy period for London Ambulance Service and a shortage of frontline staff. The service has raised it’s REAP (Resourcing Escalatory Action Plans) level to address these shortages by moving as many staff as possible to the front line, offering increased overtime, rebanding some staff and using alternative vehicles for certain types of journey. Performance is expected to recover in October 2014. Brent CCG, as lead commissioner for ambulance services in London is closely monitoring the situation. C. Difficile Infections Wandsworth CCG and St. George’s are within their annual trajectories for C. Difficile infections with 19 and 11 cases respectively. Health Outcome Indicators A number of the Health Outcome Indicators on slides 7 and 8 have received an annual update this month. . There have been improvements in all but two of these indicators. These indicators reflect the positive impact that the work of the CCG has had on the health of its resident population during the first year of operation.
