Imagine you are out on the road somewhere in Europe. Suddenly
you have to move to the side of the road because the vehicle has
broken down. It can happen to the best, even a MAN or NEOPLAN.
The question is: what do you do? The answer is Mobile24. Here are
some tips on what procedure to follow in the event of a breakdown.

Be careful! As you freewheel to the side of the road switch on the
hazard warning system, bring the vehicle to a halt at the side of
the road, turn the steering wheel towards the edge of the road and
switch on parking lights according to the visibility conditions.

Wear the right clothing. Put on a safety vest and then display a
warning triangle and/or other warning devices at an adequate
distance away from the vehicle. Occupants (apart from bus passengers) should get out of the vehicle and find a safe place to wait.

Keep your documents handy. Have your vehicle registration
document and – if you have one – your MAN ServiceCard or
RepairCard at the ready.

Service on call. Now call Mobile24. Provide the following information:
your name and the telephone number on which you can be called
back, chassis number, vehicle registration number, kilometre reading,
date of first registration. Then outline the problem with the vehicle to
your Mobile24 agent.

For invoicing purposes. State the name of the company which is
to be invoiced. If you have a MAN ServiceCard or RepairCard please
state the customer number printed on it.

And now things get moving. Describe the exact location of the
vehicle. Once you have provided all the required details, your Mobile24
agent will get in touch with a MAN service point in your vicinity and
organise everything that is required to help you. Speedy assistance
is now on its way.

Always ready. The MAN service vehicle will get to you as quickly
as possible. Our vehicles are equipped with important replacement
parts, tools and electronic diagnosis devices. Ready for duty.

Just in time. Your Mobile24 agent or your MAN engineer will call you
on the phone and give you the estimated time of arrival of the MAN
service vehicle. If any delays occur because of the weather or traffic
problems we will get in touch with you again. Please therefore remain
available at all times for us by telephone.

Everything OK not KO. In most cases the MAN engineer will be
able to remedy the problem on the spot and you will get the green
light to travel on.

Sometimes there’s only one answer. If the MAN engineer finds
that the repair cannot be carried out on site we will ensure that your
vehicle is towed away immediately to the nearest MAN workshop.

The law is the law.
When a problem arises Mobile24 will provide expert and
speedy assistance. But mobility does not always have priority.
In some countries the deployment of breakdown services
on motorways and sometimes also on ordinary roads is
governed by statutory regulations. As a result, only licensed
breakdown services are allowed to provide assistance or
tow vehicles away on these routes. In these cases Mobile24
unfortunately cannot play an active role on site. An important
piece of advice: It is essential to call Mobile24 as quickly as
possible in such cases. We will then get in touch with the
relevant breakdown service and ensure that your MAN or
NEOPLAN is taken to the nearest MAN service point. If, however, you are already being towed away, you can insist that
your vehicle is taken directly to the nearest MAN service
point or just to the nearest motorway exit.
