Niessing Ring® True greatness lies in the idea. A diamond, held solely by the power of tension, its glow radiating to all sides: the valuable stone seems to float in the ring, safely protected by the precious metal. The artist Walter Wittek from Vreden had the idea for the Niessing Ring®. The ring in its original form „Round“ was protected by copyright as a work of art in 2001 and many museums have included it in their collections. Only the genuine Niessing Ring® has the punch mark »Heart and Arrow«. Since its creation in 1979, we have continuously developed the tension ring. Today it comes in diverse forms: from simple to extravagant, from delicate to voluminous, with smaller or larger brilliants. The new slim Niessing Ring® S is exclusively made from our specially designed Niessing alloy of platinum and tungsten. This alloy is particularly strong, allowing for extra high tension in the ring band. Only by this special alloy in combination with a sophisticated new forging method was it possible to clear the way for the new Niessing Ring® S. »S« as in smart, strong, sexy. »S« as in small. Because true greatness lies in the idea. 2 3 Knowing it is platinum. You can experience the preciousness of platinum with all senses: its pleasant weightiness, its natural white gleam, and the warmth it radiates. Platinum is lasting and extremely durable. It is therefore no coincidence that the very first Niessing Ring® was forged from platinum. This rarest of all precious metals has the perfect properties for securely holding the diamond. Working with platinum requires an even higher level of skills than does forging gold. Niessing has the expertise and the unique experience in handling this exceptional precious metal. The Niessing designers and goldsmiths specifically create our platinum alloys and produce them in our own workshop. Niessing exclusively uses 950 platinum and 1000 fine platinum. Our latest creation is a special alloy of platinum and tungsten: Only this alloy has enabled us to design the Niessing Ring® S with its particularly fine dimensions. Niessing stands for decades of extensive platinum expertise and unique design in platinum jewelry. All from a single source: Platinum from our own forge, the ring blank and the finished Niessing Ring® OpenEnd. 4 5 The original form. Niessing Ring® Round. Pure, simple, clear: the original form for all tension rings. The circular profile highlights the aesthetics of the tension ring. The diamond is securely anchored in the ring‘s clear circle. The new Niessing Ring® S has a more slender form and comes exclusively in platinum. The first Niessing Ring® from 1979 by Walter Wittek. 6 7 Powerful. Niessing Ring® Tapered. The ring‘s profile flows gently from round to oval. The Niessing Ring® S in its tapered platinum version places larger stones in the limelight and is very comfortable to wear at the same time. 8 Niessing Ring® S Tapered 9 Niessing Ring® Tapered Pure harmony. Niessing Ring® Oval. The ring band smoothly fits the finger, softly and without edges. The diamond is perfectly inserted into the oval form, held solely by the invisible power of tension. Free and yet safe. Also available as Niessing Ring® S in platinum: smaller, finer, slimmer. Niessing Ring® S Oval 10 Niessing Ring® Oval 11 Statements in platinum. Niessing Ring® OpenEnd. Niessing Ring® Flat. Harmoniously curved elegance: Like a bud, the ends of the strong ring band open to hold and protect the valuable stone. Opposites attract. The ring band is circular and soft on the inside, straight and clear on the outside. The valuable brilliant harmoniously fits in to form the magic bridge. 12 13 Bold beauty. Niessing Ring® HighEnd. With open arms, the ring band receives its precious gift. Two straight surfaces point toward the center of the ring, holding and protecting the diamond. The ring becomes slightly thicker toward the bottom, tracing the line of tension. A bold construction for a splendid performance. 14 15 Play of colors. Niessing Ring® Color. Now color enters the game! Be inspired by Niessing‘s colors of gold: Yellow, reddish, red, sand, gray, and green: Niessing has opened the range of colors. Special alloys of gold with palladium, copper, and silver are used to create exciting nuances. All Niessing tension rings are available in different shades of gold. The Niessing Ring® S is exclusively available in platinum. Which color goes well with your skin and your hair? Do warm, earthy shades or cool, intensive tones suit you better? Try them on to discover which color corresponds to your personality. Niessing Rings Color open completely new dimensions: How about a white brilliant as a dramatic counterpoint to the colored ring band? Do you prefer a sherry colored diamond to form a pleasing, warm harmony with reddish or sand colored gold – or rather a strong contrast with platinum? The possibilities are unlimited. It‘s your choice. 16 17 It doesn’t always have to be white. Platinum and natural colored diamonds. Platinum naturally has a brilliant white gleam that is precious, elegant, and inherently beautiful: the perfect setting for valuable white diamonds. But sometimes you may prefer to have it more colorful. The subtle and discreet white of the platinum makes the perfect stage for natural colored diamonds. Whether they are yellow, brown, blue, green, red, or pink, natural colored diamonds are more popular than ever. At Niessing, we particularly like to use diamonds in warm shades of brown, orange, or yellow, such as the colors »Cognac«, »Sherry«, and »Lemon«. A Niessing Ring® of platinum with a natural colored diamond is a very exceptional piece of jewelry: Precious and unique like its wearer. Let yourself be seduced. If you have a diamond of your own that you would like to have set, ask your jeweler if it can be used for a Niessing Ring®. This is certainly the most beautiful way of making a diamond shine.
