To take the pump apart it is only necessary to loosen the wing nut on the eyebolt and swing the scroll and scroll clamp
clear. This will allow the impeller to be removed from the slots in the shaft and also the scroll cover. At this point the seal arrangement is left exposed and may be removed. In replacing the seal it is important that the seal parts are replaced in the
proper sequence with part # 1 closest to the motor.

In this manner the carbon ring rotates against the back of the scroll cover which is stationary.

Design & Construction Features
APV Crepaco “R” Series Rotary Pumps incorporate a
long life, sanitary, stainless steel body with versatile, resilient,
molded rotors and a heavy cast iron gear case, all of which
are designed to give dependable, economical service over a
wide range of products and applications.
Design and construction meet the rigid requirements of
3A, USDA, BISSC and other regulatory standards.
All product contact parts are 316 stainless steel with food
grade seal and rotor materials which will not impart odors or
affect flavors. All parts are interchangeable and replaceable
in the field.
1. FRONT COVER Stainless steel precision ground to
seal flat against pump body.
10. DRIVE SHAFT Provided with standard key way, can
be supplied in either top or bottom location.
11. SHAFT BEARING Heavy duty Timken tapered roller type.
12. TIMING GEARS Precision machined spur gears, hardened for long, quiet operation. Welded to rotor shaft to
assure accurate timing.
13. LOCATING PLUGS Pressed into gear case; provide
accurate positioning of pump body.
14. LEAK DETECTOR Atmospheric area between sanitary
body and gear case.
15. ROTOR SHAFT Stainless steel square with special
locating corner for proper rotor insertion.
2. GASKET Specially formulated paper, dimensional
accuracy assured.
3. ROTORS Precision molded rubber or plastic with
stainless steel hub.
4. SHAFT SEALS Lip seal,
molded in a variety of
compounds for both
pressure and vacuum
applications as standard. Optional single
mechanical seal,
carbon vs 316 stainless steel. Required for speeds in excess
of 600 rpm.
5. PUMP BODY One
piece stainless
steel. Machined and
polished for easy
cleanup.
6. SEAL BEARING
Slips over “O” ring
and rotor shaft to
provide easily replaceable
seal surface.
7. STUDS Stainless steel, assures
quick and proper assembly.
8. GEAR CASE Heavy cast iron
housing provides oil reservoir for
timing gears and shaft bearings;
exterior is finished with a quality
epoxy paint which is heat and chemical
resistant.
9. REAR COVER Contains oil seals and shaft

Precision molded and machined rotors have been the heart of the APV Crepaco “R” Series Rotary Pump for more than 25 years. They
are performance proven and are available in a variety of designs to meet specific application requirements. All APV Crepaco rotors meet
3A, USDA, BISSC and other regulatory standards.
Configurations
Flush Face Same specification as
standard 5-lobe except faces are smooth
(flush), not recessed. Available for pump
sizes No. 2, 3, 4, 6 and 700. Used with
abrasive or clinging products that might
clog recessed face. Also used in degassing/deaerating
pumps
with front outlet covers.
Normal size up to 135°F
(57°C), undersize up to
250°F (121°C).
Single Lobe with recessed faces
available for pump sizes No. 6 and 700,
same displacement as 5-lobe. Used with
delicate or fragile products and large particulates or chunks. Normal

up to 250°F (121°C). Recommended operating limitation: 150 psig (10.2 bar)

Metal Non-galling and precision machined with 5-lobe profile. Available for

rotor face wear rings. Used
with abrasive products
containing hard particulates such as bone
chips, seeds, etc. For up

Solid Epoxy Available for pump sizes

Celcon Excellent abrasion
resistance, toughness
and a very low coefficient of friction against
metals are qualities of
Celcon. They are available for pump sizes No.
1, 2 and 3 in flush face
configuration. Normal size rotors are supplied up to 135°F (57°C) service and 0510
undersize for high temperature. (up to
180°F [82°C]) applications. Available with
either stainless steel or epoxy hub.
Seal - Shape
Standard 5-Lobe with recessed faces provided on all pump sizes No. 1, 2, 3,
4, 6 and 700. These exclusive APV Crepaco formulated resilient covered rotors are
recommended for most

new PD pump the most significant improvement is a
304 SS gear case on every pump. No more rusting,

All stainless steel hardware prevents corrosion and
stripped bolts, including a stainless steel gear case. Along
with 17-ph H-1150 shafts and 4-way mounting.
All ZP1 & ZP2 models can be rebuilt with over-sized
rotors to extend the pump’s useful life.
