Junior Jonah Harris, sophomore Cole Conklin, and freshmen Sean Haxby, Chase Howard,
Jackson Miller, and Riley Tindell earned a perfect 4.0 GPA to lead the baseball program in
second quarter grades.
Sixty-five percent of the baseball players earned a 3.0 GPA or better,
up 4 % from last year. Seventy-seven percent of the player’s grades raised or
stayed the same from first quarter, up 16 % from second quarter last year.

The overall program GPA was 3.17. Grades by class were Seniors, 3.3; Juniors, 2.94;
Sophomores, 2.88; and Freshmen, 3.38.
DISTRICT GRADE POLICY
The District grade policy for athletic participation requires the athlete to maintain a
2.0 GPA with no F’s or a 2.5 GPA and F’s to be eligible. Students can be on probation
for one grading period.

PRE-SEASON CONDITIONING
Senior Sammy Field and sophomore Luca Mallon were the top performers in the pre-season
conditioning jump rope and mile run test this year. Field had zero misses in the jump rope,
and Mallon had a 5:57 mile run. Austin Andrews had a 5:58 mile run, 25 seconds faster
than last year, which was the biggest individual improvement. Jake Valentine and Jonah
Harris each had one miss on the jump rope test. Twenty-one players participated in the
seven-week off-season conditioning program, with most of it taking place at the Wilson
Baseball exclusive performance training center, Twist Sport Conditioning.
ALUMNI GAME
Saturday, July 13 will be the date for the
annual alumni games held at Wilson. A
no-host bar social will be held after the games
at Toby Harris’ (89) Cider Mill/Fryer Tuck for
alumni, family, and friends.
GOLF TOURNAMENT
Sunday, July 14 at 1PM, is the date for the
annual shotgun golf scramble fundraiser at
Meriwether National Golf Club in Hillsboro.
A registration form is included.

Record 16-5, League, 12-0
2012 Alumni Game
Varsity…Record 16-5, League, 12-0—John Venables pitched
a no-hitter in 7-0 win over Roosevelt in Game 3 of the
series. He walked the lead-off hitter in the seventh to lose
the perfect game. Jonah Harris and Gerhett Moser each
had three hits…Josh Hagge and Moser each had three RBI’s
in Game 2 win, including a Moser home run. Philip Blatt
allowed only two hits to earn the win…Moser pitched a
one-hitter in Game 1 win over Roosevelt. Cole Conklin had
four RBI’s…Brendan Freeman and Arun Reimer were perfect
at the plate and each had three RBI’s along with Kevin
Shimomaeda in Game 3 win at Franklin…Jake Valentine had
three hits and Blatt pitched a shutout in 7-0 win in Game 2…
Moser had 10 K’s in Game 1 shutout. Zach Wogan and
Hagge each had two hits, and Blatt and Conklin each had
two RBI’s…Wogan had two hits in 5-1 loss to Dallas…Austin

Andrews had three hits in 6-4 win over Benson in Game 3.
Venables had three RBI’s. Reimer earned the win and Blatt
the save…Moser pitched a one-hit shutout in Game 2 and had 12 K’s. Moser and Hagge each
had thee RBI’s…Blatt had eight K’s and pitched a one-hit shutout in Game 1, which was
“Opening Day” for the PIL season. Moser had four RBI’s and Andrews three RBI’s to lead the
offense in the 18-0 win. Principal Brian Chatard threw out the first pitch at the end of the
pre-game ceremonies in which the field was named “Clopton Field”…The 12-day Spring trip
to Arizona and California was plagued by errors (19). The team was 1-4, winning the last
game versus North Glenn, IL., in the Big League National Tournament in Scottsdale…Blatt
allowed one hit and had nine K’s in Game 1 win over Cleveland 7-1. Hagge and Freeman
had two hits each…Blatt had five RBI’s in Game 2 win, and Moser had seven K’s and allowed
one hit in five innings…Venables pitched a complete game 10-4 win in Game 3…Arun Reimer
allowed one hit in three innings of relief to get the save against Lincoln, 5-4…Hagge and
Moser each had five RBI’s in 15-11 win over Grant…Valentine had four RBI’s in 11-10
Endowment Game win versus Grant. Blatt struck out 3 in one plus innings to earn the
save…Wilson plays Madison this week for the League Championship

Perry Taylor doubled home Jonathan Lee in the top of the
seventh to defeat Lincoln 3-2. Jay Howell allowed four hits in five
+ innings of relief to earn the win… Alec MacDonald-Factor and
Lee each had two hits in 5-2 loss to David Douglas…Liam Wogan
had two hits and three RBI’s to lead offense in 7-5 win over Grant
JV-2. Lee pitched six innings for the win and Howell got the save
…Matt Harvison, Peter Swanson, Espen Schmierer, and Taylor
each had two RBI’s in 12-10 loss to Cleveland. Seven run rally in
the bottom of the seventh came up short…Kevin Quan and
Luca Mallon each had RBI’s in 8-3 loss to Grant…Michael
Wagemann, Wogan, Lee, and Taylor each had three RBI’s in win at
Roosevelt JV-2…Wogan had four hits and Lee had four RBI’s to
defeat Lincoln JV-2 15-8. Lukas Glass, Howell, and Swanson each
had two hits. Harvison had eight K’s in 4 innings to receive the
win…Cole Conklin, Schmierer, and Glass had two RBI’s each to

beat Thurston 10-5…Harvison and Howell had two hits each in
9-5 loss to Ponderosa, CO…Zachary Johnsen and Conklin had
two RBI’s in 14-6 win over Thurston…Wogan had the only hit in 14-1 loss versus Libertyville, IL…Schmierer
and Taylor had three RBI’s each in 12-12 tie against Xavier Prep…Mallon, Taylor and Lee had the only hits in
10-1 loss at Archbishop Mitty, CA…Conlin had the only two hits in 7-0 loss to Tigard…Taylor had two RBI’s in
14-2 loss at Sherwood…Conklin and Harvison each had one hit in 9-0 loss to Lake Oswego. JV has won six of
last eight games.

Tommy Harvison and Evan Shreeve had the only hits in 7-0 loss
at Lake Oswego…Jackson Miller had three hits and Sean Haxby
and Chase Howard two hits each in 13-4 win over Wilsonville…
Miller had the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh
to defeat Sunset 7-6. Harvison had three hits and Haxby two
hits…Miller was perfect at the plate in three at bats in 10-3 loss
to Tigard…Derek McMurray got the win in relief to split a
doubleheader with Clackamas. Miller, Haxby, and Shreeve each
had two RBI’s…Harvison doubled and scored the only run in 3-1
loss to Lincoln JV…Haxby had three hits in 9-4 loss at Sherwood
…Harvison had three hits and Connor Japport had two hits in
win over Benson. Shreeve had 12 K’s to get the win…Miller and
Shreeve had to only two hits in 8-0 loss to Grant JV…Miller
pitched a five-inning 11-0 win over Franklin and had eight K’s.
Miller had three hits and Steffen Jacobsen two hits…Ben Turker
had two hits and Zach Madsen earned the win at Jefferson JV…
Shreeve and Miller combined to pitch the 11-7 win over David
Douglas. Harvison, Miller and Shreeve each had two hits.
MEDIA GUIDE
A Baseball media guide was published again this year by Gameday Media. There is recap of the State
Championship last year and the 40-year reunion of the Watco Electric American Legion team. They are
available at all home games.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST
Freshman Evan Shreeve was the top ticket seller in the annual
pancake breakfast fund-raiser. His total was third All-Time record
for the event. Freshman Chase Howard finished second with the
fifth All-Time record and was only $30 behind. The other
salesmen prize winners were juniors Jonah Harris, and seniors
Philip Blatt, and Austin Andrews. Cole Conklin, Josh Hagge, Jay
Howell, Kevin Shimomaeda, Tommy Harvison, Arun Reimer, Zach
Madsen, and Steffen Jacobsen all had ticket sales of $100 or more.

ALPENROSE DAIRY and MCDONALD’S—CAPITOL HWY donated
items to the breakfast, WES and ROUND TABLE PIZZA
allowed us to hold this event in their restaurant. BARBUR FOODS
let us store product for the breakfast.

certificates, items, and cash for this fund-raiser, and Gayle Clopton
for serving as hostess.
