GELATIN BUBBLES Mix luster dust into gelatin recipe Get slightly inflated small water balloon, twist the ends together, and use duct-tape to create a “bubble” handle 14 Melt gelatin mixture and let it cool to “skin temperature” Put a thin coat of vegetable shortening all over balloon bubble, then roll it in gelatin mixture 15 Use paint brush to wipe away the excess gelatin Then add a second and third coat of gelatin, letting each layer firm up on the balloon for about a minute 16 Then, deflate and remove the balloon - leaving the gelatin bubble “shell” to put on the cake Spray inside of the bubble with cooking spray (shortening). 17 Use a small brush to shine up the inside. Then, spray the outside of the bubble with alcohol. 18 Roll the bubble in rainbow glitter. Finally, along with some well-placed white buttercream, add the bubbles to the cake. 19 Tami Utley’s Gelatin Bubbles Recipe 2 Tablespoons of Cold Water 1 Tablespoon (or 1 envelope) of Gelatin mix 1 Teaspoon of “Super Pearl” Luster Dust (Optional) Note: Any “Luster Dust should work, but not “Sparkle Dust” or “Disco Dust” (Some colors dissolve well and some don‟t dissolve well.
