I would suggest you hitch your horse (Elvis and Sherman, aka OLFT Twilight) to the trailer to your 4-wheel drive pickup so you Celebration held each Labor Day week at Ava, can get out if they have rain like they did Mo. this year. Anticipation and excitement are what I think everyone has as they travel to Ava. These certainly were our feelings as we drove the 2 days there. I am so grateful that Robynn decided to • BSFTA 2007 Officers: arrive early and I would encourage first timers President: Bob Womack 406-549-4344 to plan (if possible) for 2-3 days to get used to lwomack@mteduc.org the show grounds before you start showing and RENT A GOLF CART! Seven years ago there were only about 10 carts, now there were about 10 people who did not have golf carts, one of whom was Cathy Olson. I told her she needed to have Randy walk and she should ride their great young stallion to the top of the hill. Congratulations are in order to many people. Our region is a very strong and active region. Some of the most unforgettable experiences of this Celebration were Robynn and I getting a chance to ride the back roads of Missouri before the Celebration started. It gave us a real feeling for what it used to be like before automobiles were invented. Robynn riding in the Performance arena in her English attire "looking cool" when a bug flu into her eye. She was not sure if she would be disqualified for trying to wipe it out by going to one handed riding (with 5 judges watching you, it is hard to hide). Someone I know getting a bridle rack (that I was supposed to use) stuck in the metal basket of the golf cart. Future note, remember not to stop your horse by another horse's pile in Showmanship or you will be covered with flies. Jane, remember to ride with an English saddle when trying to jump Sherman over Robynn and I dry camped and Robynn found the practice jump. I found out that it is quite out that in Missouri that means green grass and difficult getting back in the saddle with a trees, not dust and dirt with some sagebrush saddle horn behind your butt. Sherman has thrown in for shade. I forgot I was in Poison Oak been truly tested as an "idiot's horse" and or Ivy country and went out to feed the horses passed the test!!! He didn't get worried at all without my shocks on and got a mild case but I felt I was riding a no-necked horse and (poison oak or ivy) on my ankles. Lesson had to keep his head up until I got him to learned! (Continued on page 3) Clinic News ties you'd like in the club. We plan to Is your horse bored? Are you? What a great season we had this year. I just want to thank everyone for all there great help this year, from the shows, trail rides, horse expo, clinics, and input at our club meetings. Please come and enjoy great food and conversation. God bless you, Bob Womack, BSFTA President I just want to remind you we will finish up this season with a Banquet to thank people, meet new club members, or see club members you have not seen in a while. The BSFTA Banquet will be held on December 1, 2007 at the Missoula Country Club. 2 Ava cont. (Continued from page 1) stop moving. Whatever you do don't drive fast in your rented golf cart with English pants on or you will be thrown out on a bump or turn! Make sure that traveling home you do get home! Missouri has some road detours (to keep you in misery) that weren't there when you first arrived in their fine state. Most important make sure the person you travel with to and from the Celebration still likes you especially if they have control of the key that locks and unlocks the doors to the pickup. You may find (like I did) that they will be so hungry that they will lock you in the pickup while they head for the restaurant! Finally don't listen to Robynn if she tells you that I told her "it just looks like we have been here before but we haven't". I am a super map reader, Missouri just wants us all to stay longer. I know a gas station in Missouri who can prove that I wasn't the only one asking for directions because I have a typed slip of paper they gave me as proof! exciting but this time I was hard put to try to place a class because there were so many good fox trotting/headshaking horses competing. I am encouraging everyone to experience a Celebration. I hope you will have as much fun and friendship as I did. People everywhere were so friendly and glad that we came to the Celebration. Seven years ago the Versatility program had only a few classes and the Ranch Horse competition didn't even exist. Now we have these two great programs with lots of thrills and challenges.
