FAIRMONT,MN— In what was once a church constructed in 1938, Daron Johnson, Dennis Boro and Maureen
Boro established Lakeview Funeral Home in 1998, creating an independently owned and operated firm that has
provided funeral and cremation services to the Fairmont
community. During the seventeen years since, Johnson
and his staff functioned within limitations imposed by
the existing structure.
Johnson called on Duncan Stuart Todd, the preparation
room specialist, to help guide the funeral home through
the new phase of the embalming room design and construction. The DST Premier Source Design package created a state-of-the-art dressing and toilet room all within
a limited building area as well as establishing a location for
the company’s flagship ventilation system. Duncan Todd,
a registered architect, was able to present several design
schemes to solve the layout issues, eliminate wasted space

of everything from design to equipment and consultation
to the building trades.
Since the preparation room remodel completed in June
2015, Johnson and his associates have benefitted from a
healthier, safer and less physically demanding working conditions. “The ventilation systems in the new facility have
improved my health,” said Johnson. “The throat irritation
I formerly experienced after embalming is now gone.”
Lakeview Funeral Home is committed to helping families
