Battle Born Baseball and Softball Training Center Home of the Mavericks Coach Garrett Moore Garrett was born in Fallon, Nevada and raised in Reno, Nevada. Garrett played his high school ball at Spanish Springs from '06-'09. While at Spanish Springs Garrett set the single-season hits record with 49 and was a two-time all league player and was named to the 1st team All-North Region team in 2009. After high school Garrett went on to play JUCO baseball 2 years at College of the Siskiyous, and 1 year at Concordia University of Nebraska. During Garrett's freshman season at Siskiyous, he was named 2nd team All-Conference shortstop and was awarded the conference Defensive MVP award. In his sophomore season Garrett lead College of the Siskiyous in hitting by batting .396 and was again named 2nd team All-Conference. After his two seasons at Siskiyous, Garrett received a scholarship to play at Concordia University of Nebraska in Seward, Nebraska. During his time at Concordia, Garrett suffered a career ending shoulder injury. Since his playing days have passed Garrett has began coaching. Garrett's coaching career began as an assistant coach for the 16U Nevada Lighting travel softball team, and he eventually moved up to coach the 18U team. Garrett also became assistant varsity baseball coach at his Alma Mater Spanish Springs before the start of the 2012 season. In his first year coaching at SSHS, Garrett coached the infielders and SSHS finished the season 4th best in Northern Nevada in fielding percentage. Coach Moore brings a hard-nosed attitude and style of play to the Mavericks baseball program. Coach believes that discipline, work ethic, desire and love for the game are key elements for every ball player have. When Garrett isn't coaching/working he enjoys camping, fishing, traveling, running, and playing wiffle ball.
