Collection Day Reminder
On collection day, please place your containers in the
street, at the curb, or near the corner of your driveway.
Barrels should have the handles facing your home. The
barrels need to be placed at least 2 feet away from any
obstruction such as fence, mailbox, or vehicle.
All barrels must be curbside by 6:00 am on your
service day.
Got Drugs?
Turn in your unused or expired medication
for safe disposal
When: Saturday, October 26th, 8 a.m. – Noon
Where: Yucaipa Police/Sheriff Station

On Saturday, October 26th, 2013, the Yucaipa Police
Department in conjunction with Make a Difference Day will
participate in a drug take back for the community.
Prescription drugs will be accepted as well as over the
counter tablets, capsules and liquid. Intra-venous solutions
and needles, if packaged separately and in a hard container
will also be accepted.
You may leave medications in original containers, but it is
not necessary. This program is free and anonymous. For
more information call the Yucaipa Police Department at

Lower Recycling ContaminationItems NOT for the Recycling Barrel
Recycling the correct materials adds to the success of our recycling
program. However remember to avoid putting the following materials
in the Recycling Barrel.
1. Pet Food Bags
2. Rubber hoses
3. Rubber balls
4. Green Waste/Wood
5. Textiles (Clothing, bedding, etc.)
Volunteer to Make a Difference!
This year Make A Difference Day is Saturday, October 26,
2013. Projects shall include the planting of 95 (1) gallon
trees and 740 (1) gallon shrubs within the 13th Street Sports
Complex Habitat Restoration drainage area and 81 (15) gallon
trees around the slopes of the two northerly baseball fields,
painting the walls inside the Scherer Senior Center, painting
the outside of the Family Assistance building, painting the
inside of the former Teen Center, extracting carpet from the
former Teen Center, placing mile markers around 7th Street
Park and Community Park, and graffiti removal in various
parts of the City.
Projects start around 8:00 am and are followed by a
complimentary lunch for all participants at 12:00 pm at
the Community Park. Volunteer hours completed can be
used for the City approved Service Credit Program. Sign
yourself or your organization up to volunteer by contacting

Do You Have...... The Right Stuff?!
Residents who recycle correctly help keep rates lower for everyone and lower the amount of trash
going to the landfill! We want to put Yucaipa at the Top of the Heap of cities that recycle. You can help
by taking the Recycling Challenge!!!
Win $100 if you recycle the right stuff!
Yucaipa Disposal will award three participating residents with a $ 100 prize (or account credit) if they
are selected and keep their recycling, green waste and trash in the right barrel.
How to participate:
• Fill out entry form and send it to Yucaipa Disposal.
• Keep trash out of your recycling and green waste barrels.
• Entries will be selected at random - one per month (September-November, 2013).
