Pathways to Recovery
The Recovery House
Editorial
It is with great pleasure that I sit to write the Editorial
for the first ever newsletter of The Recovery House.
Pathways to Recovery is meant to reflect the day to
day activities that are carried out at the institute, as a
part of its psychiatric rehabilitation program. It is
essentially, a client driven endeavor, one that engages
them through being creative, expressive, and
productive.
Admittedly, the very idea of an organizational
newsletter is a novel one for much of the TRH
clientele; however, it is has been rather encouraging
for me to acknowledge that there are many innate
talents and abilities, which just need to be given a
chance to be revealed and blossom! As ideas are
discussed for each theme of subsequent newsletters,
and compilation tasks are divided and carried out,
there is much reason to be optimistic that our team
members will feel a sense of great accomplishment in
producing material that is enjoyable and insightful!
The theme for this first issue of Pathways to
Recovery is spring. This season brings renewed
energies, as the cold and dry days of winter fade
away, and sunshine brings along joy and motivation

to indulge in a wider range of activities. Our clients
have expressed their individual feelings about this
season, including what they like to do, where they
would like to go, what they would like to eat, and
what means of relaxation they like to engage in to
feel good and content.
The staff of The Recovery House is a commendable
group of compassionate individuals, and serves as a
source of tremendous support, hope, and inspiration
for the clients.
In conclusion, I would like to congratulate all those
individuals who have contributed to the publication
of this newsletter. Had it not been for the collective
efforts, big or small, of all those who were involved,
this document would have remained but a dream!
Happy Reading!

Visit to a Farm house

Below is a picture of spinach patch

It was a wonderful journey to Sungold Organic Farm of Karachi.
There was a lot of peace at the farm. The weather was bright and
calm and the scenario was beautiful. Everywhere was the
irrigated farm, all the way around us. There was a great variety
of ploughed vegetables. We saw beans, tomatoes, parsley,
coriander, mint, eggplant and spinach. I harvested spinach and
eggplant, and then we made pakoras out of them, while we
enjoyed having the special tea of the village. Both tasted too
good. We also saw banana trees, few turkey and hens, cows and
bull. The entire experience was mind-blowing; it also made us
wonder about the village farm life.
