Dear Republican Women Federated,
Holidays are over, decorations are packed away,
New Year resolutions have been made and
some already broken, I do hope that each of you had
a wonderful holiday but now it is time to
get back in the groove of LACFRW activities.
We begin this year with an exciting 45th Annual
LACFRW Leadership/Workshop at the San Gabriel
Hilton Hotel. There will be just 2 workshops and
they will be covering all the important information
that you will need to make your Club the very best.
One workshop will be for the club Presidents where they will be able to
share ideas, along with getting ideas how to increase membership. The
other workshop will be for officers and members and how important each
one of you are to your Club. We will all meet together for a delicious
lunch and hear Terry Paulson, a wonderful and well known motivational
speaker.
As we continue through 2016, we will strive to get a Republican elected as
President of the United States and also a Republican Senator from
California. There will also be many local elections that we will be
working hard to get Republicans elected.
As a LACFRW Club President, I hope that you will share the activities of
the LACFRW with your Club members, one way to do this is to forward
the newsletter to each member, another is to make sure that our events are
noted in your newsletter and to announce them at your meeting.
I look forward to seeing you on January 23 at the San Gabriel Hilton Hotel.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE GIPPER! February 6
Raised in a poor family in small towns in Illinois, Ronald Reagan graduated
from Eureka College in 1932 and worked as a sports announcer. After
moving to Hollywood in 1937, he became an actor and starred in a few
major productions. Reagan was twice elected as President of the Screen
Actors Guild, the labor union for actors, where he worked to root out
Communist influence. In the 1950s he moved into television and was a
motivational speaker at General Electric factories. Having been a lifelong
liberal Democrat, his views changed. He became a conservative and in
1962 switched to the Republican Party. In 1964, Reagan’s speech, “A Time
for Choosing”, in support of Barry Goldwater’s floundering presidential
campaign, earned him national attention as a new conservative spokesman.
