It is an organisational unit within the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior. The department ″Roads and Bridges″ is one of six departments of the Supreme Building Authority, Building and Transport. It is responsible for a road network with a total length of 25,500 km, about 14,500 bridges and 61 tunnels and more than 6,000 km of bicycle path. The annual building investments in Federal motorways, Federal roads and State roads amount to more than 1,2 billion Euros. In addition municipal road projects are funded by the Bavarian Government with about 200 million Euros every year.
