Monier Material Library User Notes
Monier Material Library User Notes Introduction Monier have supplied material swatches from their brick and tile ranges. These are able to be used in a number of applications. Installation of the Resource The swatches are installed on the C: drive of your computer in a sub-directory named “c:\monier”. Since many rendering applications rely on a fixed directory name, the name “c:\monier” was chosen to store this Monier resource as being more universal across the majority of computers that will run this type of software. The “c:\monier” directory contains raw texture maps as well as a number of application material libraries to provide a foundation for your visualisations. Base material libraries are provided for AutoCAD, Revit release 12 and 3d Max. It is assumed that users will adapt these general resources to address their specific rendering requirements. Please note that Monier reserves to right to update and make changes to this document without notice. AutoCAD AutoCAD uses a shared material library with the other products in the Autodesk range. Using AutoCAD 2012, the library is accessed using the material tab of the application. 1. Select the Render tab 2. Select Material Browser Contact Monier | 0800 666 437 | monier@csr.co.nz 3. Select the .asdklib file 4. Drag swatch onto model 5. Adjust texture with mapping coordinates Revit Revit (2012) uses a shared material library with the other products in the Autodesk range. With Revit 2012, the library is accessed using the material tab of the application 1. Select the materials on the Manage tab Contact Monier | 0800 666 437 | monier@csr.co.nz 2.Select Material Browser Apply materials using the material editor 3D Studio 3D has its own .mat material libraries stored in the “c:\monier” directory as follows: 1. Select the materials editor and load in the appropriate material library Contact Monier | 0800 666 437 | monier@csr.co.nz 2. Map the material onto the object and adjust the “uvw” modifier to scale. Other Packages Other render packages, such as those associated with ArchiCAD, Deep Exploration, Vectorworks and Sketchup, are able to use the basic texture maps within their own material editing and application environment. Deep Exploration Drag the texture onto the object and adjust the “uvw” parameters. Duplicate an existing material and add the texture to the project library. 1. Open the library manager and add the texture to the project 2. Add the texture from the library to a duplicated material 3. Assign material to element 4. Start with a Sketchup model 2. Open up Material editor 3. Create a new material and drag onto the object 4. Adjust the mapping coodrdinates 5. Texture added to model Contact Monier | 0800 666 437 | monier@csr.co.nz Real Size by Texture For AutoCAD, Revit and 3D Max the Real Size is embedded in the data in the library definitions. The Real Size for the individual textures is as below: BRICKS Metro Mezzo Presto Santorini Block Standard – Unblended Colours Standard – Blended Colours Desert Heatherstone Kiln Run Red, Kiln Run Brown Okura Cream Redbourne Saddlebrown, Smooth Red Blend ROOF TILES Horizon Hacienda Nouveau Marseille Portuguese Royalcoppo Width (mm) 1440 1440 2160 1800 1920 Height (mm) 840 1290 1720 1032 1720 5760 1720 1027 2100 1252 2500 2000 1200 1363 2540 1330 2000 2000 1200 Contact Monier | 0800 666 437 | monier@csr.co.nz
