Prof. Nihal Zekiye Erdem Office Hours Wednesdays, 11:00-12:45 and 13.30 am-16.15 pm Course Objective In this course, students will learn the principles of nutrition and diet therapy in diseases, prepare the appropriate nutrition therapy plan by evaluating the diet of the patient. Learning Outcomes and Subordinate Skills In the end of this lecture, the students will learn: 1. Express the definition and etiology of diseases. 1.1 Distinguish the disease of liver. 1.2 Categorize the disease of kidney. 1.3 Eplain with about infection disease. 2. Interpret the clinical outcome and complications of disease 2.1 Categorize the complications of liver disease. 2.2 Evaluate the clinical outcome and complications of kidney disease. 2.3 Question the clinical outcome and complications of cancer. 3. Apply the fundamentals of medical nutrition therapy. 3.1 Manage the fundamentals of medical nutrition therapy in liver disease. 3.2 Debate a medical nutrition therapy about the kidney disease. 3.3 Arrange the reasons of medical nutrition therapy of burns. Nutritional Therapy in Kidney Diseases -2 5. Nutrition Therapy in Hepatobiliary Diseases 6. Nutrition Therapy for Sepsis, Trauma, Burns and Surgical: Metabolic Stress 7. Nutrition Therapy in Inflammation and Infectious Diseases, HIV/AIDS and Nutrition 8. Nutrition Therapy in Cancer 9. Nutrition Therapy in Allergy and Food Intolerance 10. Nutrition Therapy in Nervous System and Psychiatric Diseases 11. Nutrition Therapy in Transplantation, 12. Nutrition Therapy in Skin and eye Health, Test Diets 13. Enteral- parenteral nutrition 1 14.
