FOSSweb Registration Directions Access your teacher resources for FOSS science from any computer using the new FOSSweb website. First you will need to create an account that will give you premium access. 1. Open your web browser and enter the following URL: www.fossweb.com Click on “Don’t have an account yet? Get started now.”* *You will return here later to login using your e-mail and password. 2. Click on the “Register for FOSSweb” button. 3. Select the “Register as a user within an organization, such as a school or school district” option followed by the “Continue” button. 4. Enter your BPS complete e-mail account (e.g., aa00bps@birmingham.k12.mi.us). You will need to re-enter your e-mail in the Confirm Email Address window. 5. Select YES to indicate that you work for a school, school district or other educational provider. 6. Type only the word Birmingham in the “Contains” window to search for Birmingham Public Schools. Please do not add any other words in this window. You will not need to enter an address. 7. Enter Birmingham as the city, United States of America, as the country, and Michigan as the state. You do not need to enter a zip code. 8. Select the Search button. 9. Select the blue +ADD button next to “Birmingham Public Schools” and Birmingham Public School District will automatically appear in the Selected Organizations window. 10. Select the Continue button. 11. Enter your personal information. Please note: You only need to enter information that is required as indicated by the blue asterisks. Select all grade levels that apply to you. Once you have completed your information, select the continue button. 12. Choose a password that is at least 8 characters long. Passwords will be case sensitive. Be sure to write your password down so you can use it to login later. After completing all of the required forms, select the submit button. 13. You will be sent a confirmation e-mail from Loginhelp@schoolspecialty.com to validate your e-mail account. You will be able to login after confirming your email. 14. You can now return to www.FOSSweb.com in your browser to enter your e-mail and password to login. 15. Select the Add a New Module button in the My FOSS Modules window to set-up your premium access. You will only need to do this once. 16. Your FOSSweb code will be BPSMIGr (case sensitive) followed by the grade you teach. For example, if you teach 3rd grade, then your only code will be BPSMIGr3. If you teach more than one grade level, you can enter codes in the other boxes for each additional grade level that you teach. If you run out of boxes, select the I Have Additional FOSSweb Access Codes button. Once you have entered your code(s) you can click the submit button. 17. Your FOSS modules/kits will appear. Place a check next to each module. Be sure to select all of the modules. There are no student premium codes to enter. Click on the submit button. 18. Your modules will now appear each time you login. You can now access all of the resources available for each module. Simply click on the photograph that represents the cover of the text for any module under My FOSS Modules. 19. All of the resources associated with the selected module will appear: Your complete teacher guides are now available to you as an eTeacher Guide. You can access all of your teaching masters (including the investigation masters and assessment masters) as pdf files. You can use the half-sheet option if you want to create science notebook pages. The student eBook will allow you to project pages from the student edition onto your interactive white board. Be sure to investigate the interactive whiteboard resources for flip charts!
