“Enjoy golf, fishing or a
relaxing walk”
Our lakeside golf course can be a great test to everyone from
the golfing novice to the afficionado. With many trees, large
greens and the wind whipping up from the stunning Lough
Corrib, it plays differently every day. Before your game, the 21
bay Driving Range is the perfect place to warm up and practice
your swing, or book a lesson with Gary Madden, our PGA
Professional & provincial Coach. Seven of the nine holes boast
a water hazard, and our stunning signature Par 3 fourth hole
measures 200 yards onto an island green jutting out on the
Corrib River.
falconry
Glenlo Abbey’s prime location adjacent to Lough Corrib
offers direct access from the shore and makes us the perfect
destination for a fishing trip. Ireland’s second largest lake,
Lough Corrib offers a plentiful supply of trout, salmon, perch
and bream making it a haven for the keenest of fishermen.
Experience an array of on-site activities such as falconry in our
walled garden, archery, croquet on the lawn, fishing, cruising
on lough Corrib, or enjoy the grounds with a picnic prepared
by our chefs. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around our 140 acre estate
or go a little further to the Connemara National Park. This
park covers 2,957 hectares of scenic mountains, bog, grasslands
& woodlands. See beautiful wildlife like deer and Connemara
ponies and walk the Diamond Hill trails.

The magnificent Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland’s most
popular tourist attractions. On a clear day one can see the
Aran Islands and Galway Bay, as well as the Twelve Pins and the
Maumturk mountains in Connemara, Loop Head to the south
and the Dingle Peninsula and Blasket Islands off the coast of
Kerry.
Stretching from Donegal to Cork, the Wild Atlantic Way is the
world’s longest defined coastal touring route. Glenlo Abbey is
positioned at the halfway point, making us a great stopping point
or an ideal base for your West of Ireland adventure.
