BARGETTO WINERY 3535 North Main Street Soquel, CA 95073 Office 831.475.2258 Fax 831.475.2664 www.bargetto.com customerservice@bargetto.com 2013 Chardonnay, Monterey County Our History At BARGETTO WINERY, we have been dedicated to producing fine Santa Cruz Mountain wines for over 80 years. As one of California’s most historic wineries, and the oldest winery of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the third generation of Bargettos continues to pursue winemaking excellence and innovation. The Appellation With its distinct afternoon breezes and cool evenings, Monterey County provides an ideal region for growing Chardonnay. The delicate honeysuckle aromas and fruity flavors develop nicely in this coastal area. Winemaker’s Notes This 2013 Monterey County Chardonnay marks a debut vintage for this particular wine within our Retro Label Series. Monterey County has moderate temperatures and cool morning fog during the growing season which makes it an ideal place to grow Chardonnays with tropical aromatics, crisp acidity and complex minerality. This wine is bright straw hue and brilliant clarity. The nose is fresh and clean, with subtle hints of orange zest and nectarine. Meyer lemon and vanilla dance on the palate; these flavors are reminiscent of a freshly baked lemon tart. A hint of apple lingers on the finish. Pair this wine with summer salads, fresh grilled fish and roasted chicken. This wine is meant to be enjoyed young, drink now through 2015.
