Carry out an environmental scan. Identify key issues, questions, and choices to be addressed as part of the strategic planning effort. Define or review the organization’s values, mission and shared vision. Develop an action plan that addresses goals, and specifies objectives and work plans on an annual basis. Agree upon key strategies to reach the goals and address key needs identified through the environmental scan. Develop a series of goals or organizational status statements which describe the organization and how it addresses goals and need. Develop a shared vision for the organization. Finalize a written strategic plan that summarizes the results and decisions of the strategic planning process. Build in procedures and evaluations for monitoring and modifying strategies based on changes in the external environment or organization. March 13, 2015 9 Objectives CETPA will create identifiable, CETPA-branded professional development strands at the annual conferences for ACSA, COSN, CUE and CASBO. In order to continue the integrity, quality and relevance of the program, the CTO Steering Committee will evaluate the results of the doctoral study and report both findings and resulting changes in procedure and/or curriculum to the CETPA Board of Directors. In order to establish and nurture our relationships with other organizations, the CETPA Board of Directors will develop a framework to assign Board members, the Executive Director, and/or active members to be liaisons to other organizations. In order to increase relationships with governmental agencies and other influential groups, CETPA will establish regular scheduled meetings with those organizations to increase partnerships, improve name recognition and foster relationships by April 2015 and ongoing. March 13, 2015 10 Objectives In order to be a recognized resource and authority in instructional, operational and administrative technologies, CETPA will increase efforts to provide organizational stances or position papers enhancing legislative advocacy. To better serve underrepresented organizations, CETPA’s membership experience team, through direct outreach and Regional Groups, will increase the number of California Districts with CETPA members in overall membership by 5% by December 2015. CETPA will create a sustainable, effective framework for delivering regional professional development and apply the model to complete a successful pilot event at the conclusion of 2015. March 13, 2015 11 Objectives In order to enhance CETPA’s outreach and value, the Board will recruit three technology leaders from California post-secondary institutions to serve on a Special Interest Group (SIG) whose charge will be to advise the Board and develop programming for, communications with and feedback from the post-secondary educational technology community. An evaluation and comparison of current member needs and systems will be completed in order to develop a plan to improve member services using a robust system or set of systems. CETPA will develop an organizational growth plan to address a growing membership. CETPA will develop a financial growth plan to address revenue opportunities. In order to determine the feasibility of acquiring a permanent address for CETPA, the Executive Director will perform research in both Northern and Southern California on the leasing or purchasing of office space. March 13, 2015 12 Objectives In order to properly plan for CETPA’s growth, the team will evaluate the current projects and events, organizational operations, and upcoming projects to determine staffing needs. In order to validate CETPA’s voting practices, research will be conducted regarding an official voting system. In order to continue to reflect the organization’s growth and changing membership, a plan will be developed to evaluate the logo, letterhead and other marketing materials. March 13, 2015 13
