Reliability is one of the most important things with any
aerial vehicle, with the Devourer Quadcopter we have done
our best to ensure redundancy at every level. With
completely opto-isolated, industrial grade weather proof
ESCs, Self tightening propeller mounts, triple bearing
weather proofed motors, and full carbon fiber propellers,
this combination offers one of the most robust and reliable
power systems on the market. The autopilot system has
dual redundant power inputs, dual redundant processors,
dual IMU’s, dual Compasses, and triple failsafe capabilities
with radio communications. Finally, automatically
deployed landing gear and cm precision laser range
detection, there is no errors with barometric drift that
often affect aerial vehicles who lack this feature.
Versatility is a must with any UAV platform to get the most
out of the system. The plug and play and easily swappable
payloads without the use of any tools allows the user to
select different payloads for a multitude of missions and
many combinations of both. The ability to fly EO, IR, or
both at the same time is critical depending on mission
requirements. With the ability to use EO and IR at the
same time, you can look at heat signatures to find and
detect personnel hiding in vegetation or behind some
barriers, then, switch to EO on the fly and verify it is the
correct target. Without this versatility either sensor is
much less effective.
Simplicity drives effectiveness. Without simple operation a
system can not effectively function as too many mistakes
are possible. Our system utilizes an automatic electronic
preflight checklist integrated into the GCS that ensures no
important steps are missed and gets the Devourer
Quadcopter off the ground and on mission safely and
effectively. Programming is extremely simple with the
ability to simply click on the map for most functions and
even camera pointing control.
Differentiated to us is not only different, but, better. With
test flights as high as 6000 Meters above Sea Level, flight
times as long as 2 hours with specially developed lithium
ion cells offering unmatched watts/kg, versatility of
payloads ranging from 1-10 KG, and simple operation,
there is no other quadcopter offering on the market that
comes close.
