Annette Garrison Part-Time Secretary to the Assistant to the Dean for the College of Education PEEHIP WELLNESS PROGRAM Participants in the program: If enrolled in BCBS hospital/medical plan and: o Active members and their covered spouses o Non-Medicare eligible retirees o Covered non-Medicare eligible spouses PEEHIP Wellness is a Participatory Program, which means members and eligible spouses must only participate to keep the same premium rate. o No results are required! o Participation is easy and will help ensure members enjoy results of living their healthiest and most capable life. To be completed before 5/31/15: o All eligible members must do the following to maintain their same premium rate: Get a Wellness Screening Complete the Health Risk Assessment (HRA) available online 1/1/2015 Wellness Screenings may be accomplished in three ways: o Worksite wellness screening by ADPH nurses o Screenings are available at any Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) county location throughout the state. o Doctor’s office screening: Use the Health Screening Form Complete details are available on the Teacher Retirement System website. www.rsa-al.gov FLASHBACK Who is this Flashback? Answer to last month’s Flashback: Julie Spurgeon, College of Education HARASSMENT TRAINING Remember to participate in the mandatory Harassment & Clery Act Training through Athens State Online at www.athens.edu. This training is under the Clery Act and Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013. WORK TOGETHER, PLAY TOGETHER! These Athens State employees and friends recently spent an afternoon together kayaking on the Elk River. They arranged their fun day through Fort Hampton Outfitters. The Athens-Limestone Hospital Foundation Luncheon is on Wednesday, October 15th at 12:00 noon at the Limestone County Event Center. Please contact Trish Di Lullo if you would like to join this year and she will reserve for the group. Here is a link for more information or to pay for a tickethttp://www.mypinkelephant.org/. The cost is $30 per person and you can pay online or pay at the registration table the day of the event. INVENTORY AND OFFICE KEYS Please remember to contact Paula Bullington, Coordinator of Property, before moving any property from one office to another. This includes equipment, file cabinets, furniture, computers, etc. When in doubt, please call Paula at ext. 342. Also, do not swap office keys before contacting Dwight Lovell at ext. 344. The number on your office key has been designated to you only. It is important that the Physical Plant office have an accurate record of each office key and an accurate record of inventory. BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Remember your mammogram! FAMILY NEWS Sympathy is extended to the family of Samuel Archie Goodin, who passed away Saturday, September 20th. His funeral service was Tuesday, September 23rd, at Limestone Chapel. Mr. Goodin was the father of Barbara Burks, Library. WEDDING BELLS IN THE OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES Sarah Tam and Tyler Claxton (son of Phyllis Claxton) were married July 6th. Sarah and Tyler are at home in Portland, Oregon. Ashley Gardner and Andrew Sims (son of Suzanne Sims) were married August 9th. Ashley and Andrew are at home in Henderson, Tennessee. Lindsey Thornton and Cody Smith (Athens State employee and son of Jerrie Smith) were married September 6th. Lindsey and Cody are at home in Athens. LUCKY WINNER Pictured: Eddie Montgomery, Diann, Troy Gentry Diann Shelton was the lucky winner of two tickets to see the famous country duo Montgomery Gentry in th concert Thursday, September 18 at the WDRM Listeners’ Lounge. Diann had called in to the station to answer the winning trivia question on her way home from work previously in the week. She knew the answer, but did not even know what she was calling in to win! The trivia question was “What is the name of Eddie Montgomery’s brother who made it big in the country music scene before Eddie did?” Diann answered correctly, “John Michael Montgomery.” Diann and her sister, along with other winners were also treated to lunch at the station. Some of Montgomery Gentry’s greatest hits are “My Town”, “Hillbilly Shoes”, “Where I Come From”, “Something to Be Proud Of”, and “Lucky Man.” FIDDLERS PHOTOS Employees, please send a photo of yourself and/or co-workers at the Fiddlers Convention this weekend! It could be a group photo of you working a booth, working a gate, enjoying Arts and Crafts, driving a golf cart, working at the Book Sale, showing your juggling talent, or just enjoying the food and the competition!
