The purpose of the Swartz Creek Area Senior
Center shall be to identify and meet the needs
of senior citizens. This is achieved through
programs designed to provide services in the
areas of information and referral, education,
nutrition, health screening, the arts, recreation,
personal growth, leadership development,
self-worth, and community involvement.

Are you new to using computers? Do you wonder what people mean when they say the cloud, Windows, ISP, or app? Perhaps you
just want to know more about how computers work. When it comes to learning today's technology, this class has all of the basic
concepts covered.
Getting to Know your Android Smartphone or Tablet for Beginners — Friday, January 8th, 9:00—11:00am
Once you have an Android phone or tablet, your next step should be learning about the physical features of the device and the
accessories that come with it. This includes the different buttons and ports, how to turn the device on and off, how to charge the
battery, and the importance of protecting the screen. To use your Android device, you'll need to understand the basics of the Android
operating system. In this class, you will learn about all of these things, as well as learning about the how to use the basic apps that
came pre-installed in your device. This class is for beginners that may not feel comfortable with their new devices. Please bring your
charged device to class with you.
Understanding your iPhone or iPad— Friday, January 22nd, 9:00—11:00am
Do you want to learn more about your iPad or iPhone? Understanding how to use these two Apple products can be frustrating at first.
This iPad & iPhone class covers all the basics for using your iPad or iPhone to its potential. We will go over security, basic settings,
the App Store, and more. Learn how to save battery life and decrease charging time. This class is interactive, so if you’d like to bring
your device, please do so.
The Basics of Using your Kindle Fire/HD/HDZ— Friday, January 29th, 9:00—11:00am
Did you know you can use your Kindle Fire/HD/HDZ for more than just reading? This class will cover the basic functions of using your
Kindle Fire/HD/HDZ. We will go over how to use the web, how to watch and/or download movies, free apps, settings, and more.

Entering the monastery gardens, one is transported out of time,
to a place of quiet. The garden paths roam gracefully over ponds
and lead to gazebos. The church itself is a marvel of authentic
antiquity.
The Royal Eagle is built in a traditional, gorgeous Venetian style
to honor the memory and bequest of an Italian-American church
patron. Everything is prepared in – house by Czech Heritage chef
Petr Balcarvosky.

We encourage you and your friends over age 50 to join us on any of our trips.
All participants must have an updated “Participation Form” on file at the time of sign-up.
Trip Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations incur a $15 administrative fee which is deducted from any refund due to the member. Refund of the balance will be paid
only if your seat can be canceled with the tour company. During inclement weather, if the tour company providing the trip does not
cancel, the traveler will not be entitled to any refund. Some trips have policies unique to that trip, so be sure to read the policy details on
the back of individual trip flyer. Stop by or call the Senior Center for trip details and the complete Travel Policy.

SUPPLY DONATIONS
Our Center uses many supplies on a daily basis.
Donations of paper towel, cold drink cups, hard candy,
dessert plates, tissues, copy paper, hand soap, bowls,
paper towel and 2-liter bottles of pop are always
welcome.

Beginning February, 2016, AARP Tax-Aide — IRS Certified
Tax Counselors will be providing tax services at the Swartz
Creek Area Senior Center.
