I am really bad at it. We both just share the PR work. It’s more my strength as I am a confident speaker and when it comes to making pattern packs the trusty husbands are always there to lend a hand putting them together. They have become very good pattern collators. The kids all help out when needed too. We made a deal with them that when we sold our first 100 patterns, we would take them out to dinner… we sold that in our first couple of months and they have not forgotten!” So how do they share the designing? “When we are starting a new quilt design, normally one of us has an idea and then we talk about it and add and change things and before long we have a quilt design,” Louise explains. “We use lots of graph paper and erasers!” “We draw a rough draft of the design, then each take it for a while and add bits until we are happy. We see each other a lot. Lisa has her Gamill Longarm machine at my house, so we are always planning the next quilt and keep a book of ideas for future quilts,” says Louise.
