A professional WL is able to develop, plan and execute outdoor activities during any season in
natural areas as specified in its professional profile.
Part 1: Introduction and Wilderness First
Aid (120 hours)
Location: Institute La Pobla de Segur
Dates: 12-16 / 19-23 / 26-30 October 2015
Skills of a WL:
- be in complete control of and able to develop and execute
multiple-day activities with groups in wilderness areas
Part 2: Cold Environments (68 hours)
- being positive about and in possession of a knowledge
sharing attitude about living and working in natural
environments
Location: Institute La Pobla de Segur - Catalan

- a transmitter of sustainable practices and acting accordingly,
minimizing environmental impacts

A professional WEG is able to develop, plan and execute travels and expeditions in any season within
the areas of his professional profile.

- guide groups on demanding expeditions in wilderness areas
- organize a travel or expedition on international level with a length
of more then 8 days

W.G.A. Level 1
- train and prepare participants within its professional profile
- be aware of technical, mental and physical condition of
participants at any time
- apply adequate techniques in order to minimize environmental
impacts
Wilderness
Expedition Guide
- understand and transmit local social and cultural behavior
- intepretate and share knowledge on local flora & fauna
You will develop and participate in a real expedition where
following topics will be threated: specific techniques
depending on professional profile, leadership and personal
development, development and planning of an expedition,
safety management, travel techniques, bushcraft and survival,
tracking, human geography.
