K I M B A L L T H E AT R E F I L M F E S T I VA L S 24 Days 15th Annual Virginia Peninsula Jewish Film Festival on Merchant’s Square 24 Days – November 7 The true story of how, in 2006, a gang of anti-semetic French youngsters kidnapped a 23 year old Paris telephone vendor and held him for ransom on the theory that since he was Jewish, he must be rich. The film is adapted from his mother’s account of the 24 day ordeal. The festival invites you to a post screening dessert reception in the Atrium at Henry St. Shops. Tickets $15 per person. Not Rated/116 min. Dough Dough – November 8 Jonathan Pryce stars as an old Jewish baker whose faltering business is inadvertently saved by his young Muslim apprentice. A Local/Global Cinematic Community Gathering – November 20 Come out for the 9th annual W&M Global Film Festival Fall Theme launch. Our 2016 programming theme is “Film & Community” (main event: Feb. 18-21, 2016), celebrating film and the Williamsburg community with a mash-up of old/new, local/global, and eclectic fun for all tribes, gangs, groups, and moviegoers. American critics hailed Kearns as perhaps the most likely of the three (Irish Tenors) to “achieve the level of tenor super stardom now enjoyed by Pavarotti and a handful of other singers.” Acknowledged as Ireland’s Finest Tenor at the Dublin National Concert Hall’s Silver Jubilee in 2006, Mr. Kearns is a respected ambassador of Ireland to the world and has presented the music of his homeland across the globe.
