The owners were determined to bring a special touch to the charter market. They started with the proven platform of an Irwin 65 and extensively modified the interior to effectively make her into a yacht laid out with two master staterooms plus crew up forward. Believe me: the photos of the interior do not do justice to the spacious comfort of this elegant vessel. The cockpit is broad and provides plenty of lounging room, and for the sun worshippers there is a large padded lounge forward of the cockpit. The aft stateroom library settee can convert into two berths, and the settee in the forward stateroom also provides a single berth, for those who have children or extra guests. The owners have maintained the vessel with a strong ongoing upgrade program in the years they have owned her, and it clearly shows. Sandcastle is a smart and sparkling vessel in top condition. The vessel is registered in the BVI and is owned by a BVI corporation which is included with the sale of the vessel. Sandcastle is a popular and very successful charter yacht with many repeat customers who fully appreciate the pleasures of a relaxed charter in comfort and room. This is a wonderful opportunity to take over a thriving charter business, or simply enjoy a one‐of‐a‐kind private retreat. ACCOMMODATIONS&LAYOUT The vessel is configured with the highly desirable “owner's layout” having the master sleeping cabin aft with enclosed ensuite head and separate library. A full beam main saloon area lies amidships. The Galley/Pantry is located amidships to starboard. A double guest sleeping cabin, two enclosed heads and crew quarters lie forward of the salon. The full beam main salon is light and spacious, a perfect place to entertain or just relax. A bar area and entertainment centre is fitted forward on the port side at the main bulkhead. The bar has an ice maker under and countertop/storage area outboard. Settees on port and starboard have storage within and outboard. A custom teak table is arranged favouring the starboard side. A navigation station occupies the port aft area of the saloon at the base of the companionway. All of the ship electrical controls and navigation electronics are fitted in and around the navigation station. A walk through passage, two steps down and aft, leads to the library and master sleeping quarters. The library shows extensive storage shelves inboard with a settee that converts to over and under single berths. Forward of the main salon there is a day head located outboard on port, featuring a Jabsco electric toilet and cabinet mounted wash basin. A fully equipped, step‐down galley follows the salon on the starboard side. A double bowl stainless steel sink is in the forward cabinet that divides the salon from the galley. A system of over‐ and under‐counter cabinets is outboard along the starboard hull side. There is a three burner range/oven cooker, microwave oven and generous storage area. The galley area additionally shows a dual access, custom‐built top loading freezer storage located aft on the centreline. A pantry area follows 800.524.7676 Regency Yacht Vacations David@regencyvacations.com S/Y SANDCASTLE the galley arrangement on the starboard side. The pantry shows numerous storage cabinets and ample preparation areas inboard with a large reach‐in refrigerator located in the outboard section. The teak and holly sole on the galley was renewed in 2005. All counters in the galley and the heads were replaced with Corian counters in 2006, and all faucets were also renewed at that time. The galley refrigerator was upgraded and enlarged in 2006. The enormous master sleeping cabin occupies the entire stern section of the vessel. The cabin has a king size berth favouring the starboard aft quarter with storage arranged around and under. A dressing settee with storage within lies to port in the aft section of the cabin. Hanging lockers are fitted port and starboard in the forward area of the cabin. A vanity is located on the centreline forward. A full ensuite enclosed head area is arranged to starboard in the forward section of the master cabin. The head area features a Jabsco electric toilet, a Corian sink and counter outboard to starboard and a bath tub with shower on the centreline. The guest cabin bath offers a dual access, walk through centreline bath/shower adjoining the crew quarter, followed by a Jabsco electric toilet and cabinet mounted wash basin on the starboard side. The forward guest cabin follows the enclosed head area. The guest cabin offers a king size berth on the starboard side. The berth has storage under and surrounding with a hanging locker positioned forward and outboard. The port side of the cabin has a single berth outboard above an aft facing L shape settee. Additional locker storage is next to the settee at the entrance to this guest cabin. The forepeak crew quarters has a vee double berth with drawer storage under and hanging lockers following on either side of the entrance. The cabin has dual access through either a hatch from the foredeck or alternatively by a sound‐proofed passage through the forward guest cabin/bath. HULL Hull Construction: Moulded, hand lay, resin rich, fiberglass reinforced polyester solid laminate, with moulded gel coat surfaces showing painted Awlgrip polyurethane topcoats. The cabin top was recored and refinished in 2002. 800.524.7676 Regency Yacht Vacations David@regencyvacations.com S/Y SANDCASTLE Deck Layout: The foredeck hosts an extended bow sprit of tubular construction with teak anchor platform fitted over the stem head. The bow sprit has a solid rod bob stay support and stainless steel pulpit rails surrounding. A large (Simpson/Lawrence) horizontal electric anchor windlass lies abaft the stem on the foredeck. A large deck hatch provides easy access to the forward/crew quarters. Comfortable wide walkways flow aft on either side of the raised trunk cabin stepping up around the centre cockpit area, and finishing at a spacious poop deck at the stern. The stern deck has a welded stainless steel pulpit rail with centre opening gate, surrounding a large lazarette hatch. The cavernous lazarette provides storage for deck equipment, water sports and safety gear. Water access is by ladder system which deploys from a custom fold down swim platform hinge mounted on the transom. The side decks are protected by wooden handrails inboard on the coach roof and stainless steel stanchion mounted lifelines fitted outboard. The life line system has boarding gates port and starboard at about amidships. All stanchions and lifelines were replaced in 316 stainless in 2005. All ports were replaced in 2003. Finish: All topsides were professionally refinished in multi‐coat Awlgrip in 2012. SAILSANDRIGGING RIGGING: Sandcastle has extruded alloy (Kenyon Marine) double spreader masts with extruded alloy booms. All spars are painted white.
