Scouting Florida Gulf Coast
• The Eagles had a record-breaking season in 2014,
winning a program-best 17 games in a season that
included their fifth-consecutive conference title and a
ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
• In 2015 friendly play, FGCU defeated both Central
Florida (2-1) and Florida (1-0).
• The Eagles are 1-0-1 on the season, after tying Ole
Miss in the season opener and downing Dayton 2-0.
• Offensively, the Eagles bring back one of the most talented scorers in the NCAA in 2014 Atlantic Sun Player
of the Year Tabby Tindell. She ranked top in the nation
for game-winning goals (11).
Bulldog-Eagles Series
• The two programs are even with a win a piece, with the
last win for the Bulldogs coming in 2009 (1-0).
• Florida Gulf Coast won the last match in 2013 in Fort
Myers, Fla. (2-1).
Scouting South Florida
• The Bulls are picked to finish third in the American
Athletic Conference, after turning in a 13-7-2 season a
year ago.
• USF knocked off Baylor 2-1 in double overtime to kick
off the 2015 season, with senior Olivia Chance scoring
the golden goal to escape Waco with the win.
• Chance scored nine goals and added six assists for
the Bulls in 2014, to lead USF with 24 points.
• Nine starters from the 2014 season return to the Bulls'
roster, with 20 letterwinners adding to the depth from a
year ago.
Bulldog-Bull Series
• Sunday's match between USF and MSU will mark the
first meeting for the two programs.
Texas Roots
• Eight Bulldogs list the Lone Star State as home, with
two coaches (Aaron and Ashley Gordon) hailing from
the state as well.
• It is the most Texans the Bulldogs have had on the
roster during the Aaron Gordon tenure.
Youthful Roster
• The Maroon and White roster lists 21 players that are
either freshmen (10) or sophomores (11).
• Freshmen Kiley Martens and Elva Astthorsdottir played
a hand in the Bulldogs lone goal on Sunday, with
Martens scoring in the 33rd minute on an Astthorsdottir
assist.
Attendance Record Falls
• The Bulldogs set an MSU Soccer Field opening-night
attendance record for the second-straight year as
1,088 fans attended Friday's match against South
Alabama.
• State's single-game attendance record is 1,235, which
was set on Sept. 19, 2014 against Ole Miss.
• Friday's opening-night crowd bettered the previous
best of 1,010 set in the 2014 season opener against
