Our Thank You To All Corporate Sponsors The Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, also known as the “biggest little Chamber,” is growing—becoming more successful every day by serving Florida, Greenwood Lake, Vernon and Warwick with membership extending to Port Jervis, Middletown, Goshen, Chester and Monroe. Without the support of our members, the Chamber wouldn’t have the strength it does today. Each year, this Chamber hosts popular events recognized throughout the community which include Applefest, Taste of Warwick and Community Showcase. These events would not be possible without our Corporate Sponsors. The businesses that become our sponsors benefit in various levels and forms—from the visibility that annual events create, to everyday exposure of from the Chamber’s website, email blasts and monthly mixers. The support of our sponsors allows our Chamber to grow and facilitate commerce, as well as tourism, in the Warwick Valley. We value and thank all of our members, especially our two Principle Corporate Sponsors, Myles Wealth Management and St. Anthony Community Hospital, Bon Secours Charity Health System. A Message from St. Anthony Community Hospital “Providing good help to those in need is a key priority for St. Anthony Community Hospital and Bon Secours Charity Health System. In order to do so, it is crucial for our hospital to be prominent in the community. In Warwick, this prominence is achieved through the health system’s sponsorship of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce. Between publicity, brand association and access to new business relationships, our involvement with the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce has proved to be beneficial for all parties involved. Our corporate sponsorship allows us to showcase our services and establish name recognition by supporting the Chamber, the Community and our local businesses. Everything from visibility and access to networking and advocacy has been improved since we became a sponsor of the Chamber. We feel strongly that every business and non-profit organization should join their local chamber and we are proud to support our local economy as corporate sponsors of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce. Will you join us?” A Message from Myles Wealth Management “Myles Wealth Management, founded in 1976 by M. Vincent Mezzetti, is located in the village of Florida and offers a variety of financial services, including (but not limited to) financial planning, wealth management, insurance, retirement planning and business planning. We specialize in a holistic financial planning process, an innovative approach that considers not only the financial aspect of each client’s life, but also his or her personal outlook on life including values, life goals and what brings them joy. We are very enthusiastic about becoming a new Principle Corporate Sponsor of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce. Our firm has been a strong, vocal member of the community for the past 37 years, as the members of our team have been involved with a variety of community groups and organizations within the Warwick area and Orange County. We feel that one of the best things we can do, other than the services we provide to our clients, is give back to the community we call home. We strongly believe in what the Warwick Valley Chamber does for its members and the surrounding community and we are proud to support them in their mission.” 2 The Chamber Connection The Chamber Connection 3 Letter from the Chamber President by Douglas Stage, Stage and Nathans, LLP Summer has arrived with it the influx of summer “guests”. Our area has so much to offer for many varied tastes such as excellent local food, wine, beer, along with the outdoor activities camping, hiking, and boating. The natural beauty of the Warwick Valley is matched by the inner beauty of our population. YOUR Chamber is here to help your business take full advantage of the opportunity our region offers to others. At the Caboose, our Chamber staff has had a recent change. Bea Arner has stepped into Jerrica Lavooy’s shoes and is doing a great job at it. Sarah Armand and Michael Johndrow continue to provide great support for you and our community. Our Board of Directors is helping with the mentorship of new Chamber members, reminding those who have not taken advantage of membership to join, or stay, in the Chamber. From the Caboose by Executive Director Michael Johndrow After a “challenging” winter—actually, the worst in my nine years living here—we are into the summer season, having passed spring in the blink of an eye. Let’s enjoy it along with the breathtaking beauty that surrounds us every day. Have you been to a Chamber networking event (Expresso, lunch, dinner or after hour mixer) lately? It is a very effective tool in getting your name out there, and possibly the strongest benefit of membership in our organization. I like to say that if you meet one or two new people, your exposure has indirectly spread to many more through those two contacts (friends, neighbors, business associates, etc.) We are in an age where social networking is key to the success of any business. The more events you attend, the more effective your “pitch” will be and the more comfortable you will be with the effort. So…we would love to see you soon! The 21st Taste of Warwick on September 15th is going to be impressive and fun! Twenty five tables will be full of delectable fare from our finest restaurants and eateries under the great tent. Held at the Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery on Little York Road, there will be a fine assortment of wines and craft beers. Come for a wonderful, delicious night out with friends to listen to live music on the patio. Our weekly radio show on WTBQ every Monday from 12:30 to 1:00 pm is always worth a listen. The sessions are surprisingly informative with regard to various businesses in our area. Please give the caboose a call if you are interested in being a guest (845) 986-2720. The chamber endeavors to provide exciting events for our members to promote their businesses and our Valley. Please make sure you review our “Dates to Remember” in every newsletter and keep an eye on our weekly blasts and event calendar on our website! The 100-acre farm produces fresh vegetables, fruits, and beautiful plants and flowers. In season, it’s also a fine destination to go apple picking. Penning’s Grill and Brew Pub is a great place for family and friends to have a nice and relaxing time with delicious food and refreshing drinks. On weekends, you can enjoy live music indoors or outside in the beer garden. In May we were hosted by Rogowski Farm in the magnificent black dirt region of Pine Island. Located on Glenwood Road in Pine Island, NY, the 150-acre farm yields 250 varieties of produce every year. In their farm store, you will find a variety of herbs, local fruits, dairy products, honey, farm-made dressings, and delicious food and baked goods. They serve farm fresh breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 2pm. Our June luncheon was hosted by The Dautaj, a family Italian restaurant located at 36 Oakland Avenue in Warwick. This historic Victorian mansion was built in 1855 then later converted to an inn in the early 1900s. In the 1960s it became a restaurant, then in 2006, the Dautaj family took ownership. The warm and cozy atmosphere inside takes you back in time, and the beautiful outdoor grounds and seating area are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of our village. Although The Dautaj is well known for Italian cuisine, they do serve many other varieties of food. On Friday nights, and occasionally on Thursdays and Saturdays, they have live music to enjoy while dining or having a drink at the bar. On behalf of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank these establishments for their generosity and the warm welcome they extended to us. While just a snapshot of what to think about when giving your financial plan a check-up, these offer a great place to start! For a complimentary review, contact Ed Lynch at (845) 294-3456 or edward.lynch@raymondjames.com.
