The no. 1 trend in swimming pool design is adding the element of fire to the pool scape. The reason is two fold: 1- Consumers are seeking high-quality products that enhance their outdoor space and create an enjoyable year- round environment. Exterior fireplaces and fire pits/bowls/elements allow consumers to extend the use of their outdoor space. // Page 1 Trend 1: Cont. Fire Features Are Hot! 2-The combination of fire and water elements quickly transforms an ordinary space into something extraordinary! // Page 2 Trend 2: Classic Designs In Modern Lines Today’s modern pool design is geometric sleek with clean lines. This design can compliment the architectural style of any home and works well with luxury pool designs. // Page 3 Trend 2: Classic Designs Cont. As part of this trend, many modern pools incorporate an infinity edge. These pools are often best located on terraced or hillside properties incorporating the pool into the view of a nearby natural body of water, such as a lake or ocean that lies in the background often, just beyond the pool or adjacent on the horizon. // Page 4 Trend 2: Classic Designs Cont. Also known as disappearing, vanishing and negative edge pools, these designs make the pool appear to be part of the view. By dropping the pool’s back wall to water level the water overflow creates a spectacular view. The overflow is caught in a catch basin below the back of the pool wall and the water is recirculated back into the pool system. // Page 5 Trend 3: Outdoor Kitchens Not only has the backyard culinary experience moved beyond the patio but, the trend of the “summer kitchen” has migrated to areas beyond those traditionally warmer climates. // Page 6 Trend 4: Alternative Materials Are A Must! Alternative = Pebble Finishes Alternative materials are high on our swimming pool trends list this year. Consumers are desiring products such as; Pebble finishes, glass tile & stone. Aggregate pebble finishes like Pebble Tec –a product comprised of the finest pebbles and seashells imported from around the world creates a beautiful and distinctively different finish for the interior of the pool. // Page 7 Trend 4: Alternative = Glass Tile Glass tile, especially in darker colors & shades of deep blue & grey. // Page 8 Trend 4: Alternative = Stone Also on the list of popular alternative materials are marble &/or travertine tiles, both of which belong to the limestone family. // Page 9 Trend 5: Rooms For So Much More Trend No. 5 = Transforming outdoor (or interior) poolside spaces into exciting living areas. Consumers are working with swimming pool designers to create a total pool scape concept – often laid out in multiple phases. While some offer entertainment for family and friends others may include a secluded place to relax. // Page 10 Trend 5: Rooms For So Much More Cont. // Page 11 Trend 5: Rooms For So Much More Cont. // Page12 Trend 6: Getting Out On A Ledge Often referred to as a lounging ledge or a Baja Step, these shallow spaces are great: • as a splash area for toddlers • launching platforms for the kids floating toys (they can climb on the toys much more easily from the ledge & push off into the pool). • for people who aren't swimming to rest their feet in the water while sitting on the edge. // Page 13 Trend 6: Getting Out On The Ledge Cont. // Page 14 Trend 6: Getting Out On The Ledge // Page 15 Trend 7: Focused On Fitness // Page 16 Trend 7: Focused On Fitness Cont. Covers are customizable in any & every size & shape! // Page 19 Trend 9: Taking The Spa To A New Level Spa’s have risen to a new level – literally, as a popular design trend includes the spa being raised above the pool allowing water to flow from the spa into the pool itself. But customization of concrete (gunite) spas now includes enhanced automation , custom molded seating, jet placement for optimized hydrotherapy benefits all designed to enhance your poolscape and compliment the architectural style of your home. // Page 20 Trend 9: The Spa Cont. // Page 21 Trend 10: Plunge Pools Plunge pools are shallow pools built for the purpose of lounging, wading & cooling off.
