The organization is a non-profit corporation. There were approximately 1600 players involved in the program during the 2015 season. The philosophy of FM Athletics is to provide an opportunity for ALL youth to play football, including those who might not otherwise have the chance. It is the intent of the league to foster sportsmanship, team play, and leadership. A limited number of scholarships are available. If you desire to pursue this option, please contact us via phone or email. All scholarship information is kept strictly confidential. Team Placement/Rosters: Because of the complexity of rostering 1600+ players, registrants (as well as coaching candidates) cannot be guaranteed placement on the same team or with the same coaching group each year. Athlete and Parent Code of Conduct: Any verbal or physical abuse of officials, coaches, board members and/or other unsportsman-like conduct will not be tolerated. Only players, officials, medical personnel and board members are allowed on the fields due to safety issues and insurance liability. Failure to comply with this code may result in disciplinary action and/or removal from the league 2016 Weight Limits/Restrictions: 4th Grade/Instructional: Weight up to 140 lbs. 5/6th Grade Division: Weight at/below 165 lbs. 7/8th Grade Division: No weight limit. You must play the interior line if you are at or above these weights (without exceeding weight limits in each division): 4th Grade: 101 lbs. 5/6th Grade: 126 lbs. 7/8th Grade: 151 lbs. Players are allowed one weigh-in on the day of equipment issue. 2016 Age Requirements: 7/8th grade: Must be age 14 or YOUNGER on August 31st of the upcoming season.* 5/6th grade: Must be age 12 or YOUNGER on August 31st of the upcoming season.* *A birth certificate may be required at the league's discretion. All registrations submitted after June 20th may not be accepted based upon availability, and must include the buyout as noted on the Fee Schedule. Fundraising: Each player must either fully participate in the fundraising option by selling a minimum of 10 units (at $10 per unit), or choose the fundraiser BUYOUT OPTION ($100). After June 20th, the buyout option is mandatory. FUNDRAISING IS NOT OPTIONAL. If less than 10 units are sold, the player must pay the difference (Example: sell 5 units, player must pay for 5 units/ $50). Please remember, if you are participating in the fundraiser buyout, you must do so at the time of registration. League Schedule: Games are played on Saturday mornings and some weekday evenings. There is a possibility that some games will need to be held on Sunday afternoons. The 7/8th grade games are generally on weekday evenings. Practices are scheduled by each team’s coach and are held 3-4 days per week after school or in the evening. (No practices held on Wednesday evenings). August 1st August 1st-5th Non-contact practice starts this week. *NEW FOR 2016* 4th-6th grade concussion screening to be held at Sanford Sports Med: 2301 25th Street S. Fargo. Please watch FMA website for appointment times, scheduled by team. Mandatory testing is for 4-6th graders ONLY, and is free of charge if completed at scheduled appointment time. Athletes will participate in an individualized technique, teaching, and drill sessions. This will help the athlete’s confidence as he learns to practice in an effective manner. The camp will provide the opportunity to meet new friends in the atmosphere of friendly athletic competition. We hope you’ll join us this summer for a great football learning experience. Campers will be grouped according to their grade level. The camp is open to all athletes regardless of what school boundary they live in. Camp Fees The cost of the camp is $40 for early registration (before June 1st) and $45 (after June 1st). This includes instruction, T-shirt and awards. Registration/Check-In Time Check-In will occur at Fargo South High School Field on the first day of camp, June 7th, a half hour before the beginning of camp. Make check payable to FARGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS Location/Facilities The camp will be conducted at Fargo South High School Field, 1840 South 15 th Avenue, Fargo, ND 58103: Enter from the South end on 17th Ave. Weather If inclement weather is an issue, the camp will go along as scheduled. We will move the camp indoors to Fargo South High School and South arena. If camp is held indoors, please drop your camper off at the South arena lobby on 17 th Ave. where we will have camp coaches directing them where to go. Staff The camp will be conducted by outstanding High School coaches and current and former Fargo South Bruin football players . Training/Injuries A member of the Sanford Health Athletic Training staff will be available throughout the camp. What to Bring to Camp Campers need to bring football shoes (tennis shoes work as well), shorts, and sweat socks. Football equipment will not be worn during this camp. Water will be provided throughout the camp. Please provide your own sunscreen. NDSU Men's Basketball Camps The NDSU Men’s Basketball program is looking forward to yet another summer camp season. Regardless of your experience level, we will provide a camp that will fulfill your needs with emphasis on usable functional instruction and positive attitude development, while blending competitive play and contests. Day Camp I Day Camp II June 14- 16 June 27-29 This camp allows campers to interact with past and current Bison players, while at the same time learning the fundamentals of the game. We will mix a balance of skills and instruction with plenty of games and contests! Bring a great attitude, lots of energy and a willingness to learn! Big Man/Guard June 19–21 This commuter or overnight camp is for the player ready to take their game to the next level! Big Man/Gard Camp is our most intense camp and will give you a foundation of fundamentals that you can use to continue to improve your game! Ball Handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, finishing, and defensive principles will be taught by Bison players and area coaches with tremendous experience. Individual Skills June 21-22 This commuter camp is a short and intense camp recommended for those players who are looking to improve and develop into a complete player. Campers will be instructed on the fundamentals and finer points of the game to advance both their perimeter and post skills on both ends of the floor. This camp is a great opportunity to gain confidence in your game and learn to compete at a high level! Overnight Camp The goal of the commuter or overnight camp is to develop the all-around player, while giving practical game and practice experience. Staff will provide each camper with instruction on skill development and team play concepts. Each camper will participate in drills, contests, and games, which will bring their game to the next level. College Prep This commuter or overnight camp is preparing athletes to compete at the next level. Whether you are a freshman trying to make varsity or a senior aspiring to play at the collegiate level, this camp is for YOU! They will be signed by each camper and distributed by the Deep River Mission in Cap Haitian. 1-FOR-1 Field-Player Camp The Lionheart Soccer Camp is built for both the Competitive and Recreational player who’s looking to bring their game to the next level. This camp is designed to prepare players for their respective fall seasons. Throughout the week we will be concentrating on individual player development while also teaching tactical awareness through fun and unique training exercises and games. Each student attending will be challenged both physically and mentally. Each student will be given a Lionheart Soccer Camp shirt. The camp is coed. The clinic is designed to work on the basics of goalkeeping along with introducing innovative GK training that can be done on your own. For those who are intrigued, this is the class for you! This class will specifically focus on biological concepts as they relate to life science. They will gain an understanding of ecosystems and how consumers, producers, and decomposers support the sustainability of ecosystems. Students will do activities like track their emotions through the day to identify trigger situations, situations that may cause them to lose control.
