(701) 212-8775 | www.fmathletics.com | fmafootball@AOL.com
Fargo Athletics, Inc. was formed in 1972 to help promote youth football in the Fargo-Moorhead area. The
organization is a non-profit corporation. There were approximately 1600 players involved in the program

Fantastical World of Imagination and Beyond
ALL ABOARD!! Woot Woot…. Are you ready for exploring and imagining in your own unique ways? You’ll be
experimenting with a variety of art materials and methods by becoming a wild and crazy artist. By
encouraging the development of creative thinking and problem solving skills, we’ll look at how things are built
in the real world and add a touch of make believe. We’ll design 2D environments with a dash of inventiveness;
3D sculptures with a touch of fantasy. While inventing, we will be learning about artists and exploring many
different media with our “enchanted” project themes. You can even create your own “realities” and “private
worlds” in your art! The sky’s the limit so get ready for a month of the fantastical world of imagination and
beyond. Students will host an “Art Show” to display their fantastical creations to friends and family on the
last day of class.

Nifty Novels Using Notice & Note
In "Nifty Novels Using Notice and Note" your child will have the opportunity to read some great novels using
six research based and highly effective close reading strategies from the authors of "Notice and Note".
Participants will be introduced to the six "signposts" that alert readers to significant moments in a work of
literature and encourage students to read closely. We will learn first how to spot these signposts and then to
question them to enable your reader to explore the text, and find evidence to support their interpretations of
the text. If you want your child to fire up about reading and become an even better reader than this is the
perfect enrichment class for your energetic reader. Our journey together is sure to be memorable and fun as
we learn and grow together as readers!

Social Skills
Students will learn social skills by identifying their emotions and learning strategies to deal with their strong
feelings before they become overwhelmed. Students will learn how to identify their emotions through
vocabulary building and the learning of nonverbal and verbal cues of others. The process of learning of how to
read other people’s emotions will help in identifying their own emotions. Students will do activities like track
their emotions through the day to identify trigger situations, situations that may cause them to lose control.
They will then learn strategies to calm down before they lose control. Student will role play activities using
verbal and nonverbal communication to simulate real world situations so they learn to react constructively
and positively to stressful situations.
