The planting plan is a scale drawing and should not be photo reduced. The symbols used to show new plantings indicate type of plant and location only and do not represent plant size, pot size
or future growth. The locations of the primary plantings of trees and/or palms should be scaled off the plan where measurements are not given. The location of shrubs is shown schematically
17/12/2013
to indicate the planting pattern in relation to the primary plants and ground covers are shown as zones of distribution. Both shrub and ground cover locations may be scaled off the plan but are
not exact and may require some adjustment when placing plants on site to best achieve the intent shown on the plan within the available space.
PREPARATION:
Remove all debris, grass and weeds from landscape area. Cut bed areas to subgrade level as necessary to allow for topsoil, apply Gypsum @ 500g/m2 and cultivate existing ground by tyning
to 300 depth. In turf areas cut/fill existing ground to 100 below finished level to allow for loam and turf. For isolated trees and palms in the turf areas excavate a 600 x 600 x 600 planting hole
and backfill with loam. Prior to tyning or excavating verify the location of services and modify width or depth as necessary to avoid damage.
MEL LFL
SOIL:
Apply 200 minimum depth of conserved site topsoil or use a natural sandy loam or soil mix equivalent to the garden bed. To all turf areas apply 100 of natural sandy loam or soil mix equivalent.
All soils to be free of roots, stones and any deleterious matter. Finished level of beds to be kerb height.
PLANTINGS:
SYZ JAM
All plants to be healthy, vigorous container stock, true to the specified botanic species. See Planting Stock Schedule for species and quantities. No species substitution without approval from
the landscape designer.
CAS SIA
TURF
FERTILZER:
Apply a broadcast dressing of Katec "Super Growth" Fertilizer pellets @100g/m2 to all of the bed area. With each plant place 10g. Agriform planting tablets around the rootball and 50mm
below the surface. For 300mm pot use 6 tablets; 200mm pot - 4 tablets' 140mm pot - 3 tablets. For turf apply Katec "Super Growth" Fertilizer pellets @ 100g/m2 to all of the turf area prior
TURF
to laying and apply Ammonium Sulphate 15/g/m2 one week and four weeks after laying and hose in well.
ORGANIC MULCH:
Apply 50mm minimum depth of clean hardwood chip mulch to all of the area of the garden bed. Apply mulch as an even layer after all planting, fertilizing and irrigation
MEL VDR
installation has been completed. Prior to placing mulch, grade soil back from the edge so that the bed edge retains full mulch thickness. Draw mulch back slightly
from the plants so that it is not against plant stems. To isolated trees apply mulch to 500 radius from the plant.
STONE MULCH:
To the stone mulch strips north and south of residence 1 and south of residence 2, cut ground to 50 below finished level, lay weed mat over the area, sucuring it in
STONE
place with wire or plastic pins as necessary. Cover weed mat with 50 depth of 16mm crushed rock screenings
CONCRETE BED EDGE:
MULCH
Install a continuous concrete bed edge (Kwik Kerb or similar) to the garden bed. Finish - natural cement with no pattern.
CONCRETE PAVING SLABS:
To the entry of both residences install a path of 600 x 600 concrete paving slabs laid flush with the finished ground level and the adjacent driveway.
TURF:
STONE
To all of turf areas close lay green couch turf. Turf to be tight, weed free and may be composed of mixed couch grass varieties. Turf to be sand grouted, rolled and

IRRIGATION PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION
The landscaped area of both residences to be seperately fully irrigated by permanent inground systems as
specified below.
To the metered water supply make a 20 ID connection and install an isolating ball valve, a 20 dual check valve
backflow device and a 20 Amiad filter with 100 micron screen. This assembly to be on copper or GI risers 300
above ground.
From the connection assembly to the solenoids all pipework to be 25 PN12.5 poly. sand bedded with 200
minimum cover
Solenoids to be 25 Irritrol 205MT or equivalent in heavy duty path boxes.
To all turf areas install pop-up sprinkler systems with Rainbird MPH sprinklers or equivalent with
appropriate nozzle sizes to suit to give head to head cover with spray away from the building as far as
possible. Pipework 19 or 25 LDPE tube with 150 cover, all fittings tightly clamped.
To bed areas install a Toro "Dripeze" (or equivalent non-chemically treated) in line drip tube grid with
2 litre per hour drippers at 300 intervals and lines at 400 spacings. Dripline grids to be laid on the
finished ground surface, secured in place as necessary with wire or plastic pins and terminate in a
manual drain valve in a small plastic pathbox. Driplines are covered by the mulch layer.
Install a Toro Greenkeeper automatic controller (or equivalent) in the dwelling garage or on an external
wall to suit convenient access to power. If installed externally house the controller in a lockable weather
proof enclosure. Cable from the controller to the solenoid valves to be 1.5mm2 with all joins heat shrink
sealed.
Supply "as constructed" drawings of the system installed showing all valves, sprinkler locations,
distribution lines, drip line grids and the route of control cables. Warranty the system for 12 months and
attach this specification with compliance certified by the installer. Any variations are to be approved by
the Landscape Architect.
