Ultracentrifuges Sales and Support in the US and CA by: NuAire, Inc. | 2100 Fernbrook Lane | Plymouth, MN 55447 | 763.553.1270 | WWW.NUAIRE.COM/HITACHI These general-purpose ultracentrifuges have the highest performance in their class* — 100,000 rpm (CP100WX) — making them ideal for the wide range of separation tasks used in cell biology, biochemistry and ano-material fields. For reliability and efficiency to match their speed and quiet operation, they incorporate automatic rotor-life management (RLM), a large color LCD display and positive-feedback (click-type) touch pad entry. Other standard features include RCF (x g) computation and display functions and real-time control (RTC) for direct entry of start/stop times and other parameters. A log options list permits connection with a PC (for simulations and logging of rotor and centrifuge operation histories), printer connection, user security functions and more. *Versus other similar ultracentrifuges in this class, as of October 2012. 1 Advanced technology A New Era of Rotor Life Management Rotor life is automatically managed Operation records of each rotor are stored in the RLM (Rotor Life Management) memory and the RLM element embedded in the rotor, eliminating need for manual rotor logbook entries. (Naturally, non-RLM rotors still require manual logging.) Rotor life is automatically extended Automatic rotor life management system records rotor type, serial number, total number of runs and accumulated run time of the rotor. By precise automatic tracking of the rpm profile and operation time to the nearest 0.1 hours and 0.1 times means, the rotor life is extended as much as 10 times longer than as conventional calculation. The highest acceleration and RCF 100,000 rpm and RCF to 803,000 x g* The highly efficient and compact drive unit can reach maximum acceleration of 100,000 rpm in 5 minutes (CP-100WX). The motor spins in a vacuum, with a unique wire-suspension design. *Versus other similar ultracentrifuges in this class, as of October 2012. Powerful imbalance protection Samples need to be balanced within 5 mm by visual check only. Noncontact imbalance sensor always monitors vibration of the rotor and drive shaft. In case of abnormal vibration, the sensor activates and stops operation immediately. Drive unit warranted for 10 years Safety and environmental impact reduction 0° is maintained by electronic cooling An electronic cooling system, based on a thermo-module maintains samples at 0°, even at maximum acceleration (ambient temperatures to 30°). Energy savings Power consumption is reduced by 10% (in-house comparison) through the use of an IGBT inverter. Exceptionally low noise – 53 dB or less Based on EU requirements for mechanical and electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility Brake control system for reverting motor electric power to the power source side Heating during deceleration is thus curbed. Environment friendly product About 80% of the centrifuge proper is composed of recyclable materials. Ultracentrifuges 2 Easy operation Microcomputer control functions The liquid crystal screen simultaneously displays set values and the actual operating conditions. Color liquid crystal display and touch-sensitive panel Keypad input is enhanced by gentle “click” feedback to confirm correct entry. Operation errors or faults are immediately indicated by means of an alarm display. Low table height easier rotor handling The operating height of the work top was lowered to 33½ in (85 cm), making the large-sized rotors easier to load and unload. Real-time control (RTC) simplifies timer settings Operators input desired start times directly and can input both start time and operating profile in advance for unattended operation. User name is shown on screen, linked to user ID code The user name can be shown through ID code input. This function allows interactive verification of users. Powerful customization functions These functions can be selected through the interactive screen display. • Setting of date • Print-out function (optional) • User registration • Setting of the zonal rotation speed (2,000 – 3,000 rpm) • Setting of time • User time reservations • Screen contrast adjustment • Identification number of the centrifuge unit Biosafety option In order to prevent from exhausting bio-hazardous sample to a room, a HEPA filter can be assembled in a vacuum line at option. 3 Operating parameters are automatically computed and displayed, based on selected RCF RCF max. and RCF avg. at the selected rotational speed are automatically calculated and displayed for a given rotor, reducing bothersome calculations. The rpm and operating profile are calculated simply by setting the desired RCF. User lockout When sharing a centrifuge under joint utilization or in RI facilities, the optional lockout system limits utilization to registered personnel only. Data communication Optional LAN board is available. You can link CP-WX series to your PC through ethernet or internet. Optional software “himac LogManager Ver. 3.1 (network edition)” can be installed in your PC and operating history and data of CP-WX series can be easily managed by your PC. himac LogManager Ver. 3.1 for Windows® (Network Edition) himac LogManager Ver. 3.1 for Windows® (Network Edition) is useful and convenient software to manage real time operating log of himac CP-WX series, CS150NX, C150FNX, CS22N and CR-GIII series. Maximum 16 units of the abovementioned centrifuges can be registered to the software. As data communication between the centrifuge and PC is done via LAN or Ethernet, so there is no distance limitation to establish a network. You can easily establish the network configuration and relocation with commercially available LAN devices. (Optional LAN board is required for the centrifuges.) It means you can manage the operating log at the different location from the installation site of the centrifuges. - Optional log management software This software is real-time log management software; recording period is selectable from 10 seconds to 5 minutes interval. Of course, the software supports U.S. FDA 21 CFR Part 11. The following functions are available: • Digital Signature • Audit Trail • Encrypted Data Files etc. Compatible OS: Windows® XP, Windows Vista®, Windows® 7 Professional Windows®, Windows® XP, Windows Vista® and Windows® 7 are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and other countries. himac ASSIST - Optional centrifugation simulation software himac ASSIST is simulation and calculation software of centrifugal condition and can be installed in your Windows®-based PC. You can simulate whether the centrifugal condition is appropriate before the centrifugation, also can simulate optimal centrifugal condition of a sample, whose centrifugal condition is unknown, based on your ultracentrifuge and rotor. himac ASSIST has following functions: • Calculations of K factor and pelleting time • Calculation of the allowable rpm with high-density liquid • Rate zonal simulation • Isopycnic simulation • Solvent concentration conversion • Mutual conversion of molecular parameters • Rotor database Ultracentrifuges 4 Rotors Self-locking rotor system himac original “self-locking rotor system” is the most simple system to set the rotor onto the drive shaft. You just simply place the rotor on the drive shaft and that’s all. The rotor is locked by centrifugal force automatically. You do not need to fix the rotor by screw or push the button to lock or unlock the rotor like other models available in the market. S-cap series himac original S-cap series offer simple and easy operation of the tube cap. This unique system requires just three components and three steps to assemble the cap to the tube. • No consumables, such as O-ring • Easy cleaning and no maintenance Three assembling steps: 1. Fill sample into the tube up to 80% volume and insert AL Stem into the tube by the tool. 2. Assemble Ti Ring on the tube and tighten AL Stem and Ti Ring by the tool. 3. Fill up the sample into the tube by an injector and close Setscrew. P32ZT: Zonal centrifugation system P32ZT Zonal rotor Part No. 9023160M In zonal centrifugation, a density gradient is developed within the zonal rotor running at low speed. Next, the samples to be separated are loaded through the center of the zonal rotor and are separated at a preset high speed. After separation, the gradient is unloaded and collected through the center by injecting high-density fluid from the outside wall of the zonal rotor while the rotor is running. The desired fractions are moved into the fraction collector via a spectrophotometer using a flow cell which monitors and records the optical density of the fractions. Separation Procedure P32CT: Continuous flow centrifugation system The Model P32CT Continuous Flow Rotor, designed for use with Hitachi preparative ultracentrifuges, enables you to perform highly efficient continuous flow separation and purification of large volumes under high centrifugal force. Product made to special specification P32CT Continuous flow rotor Part No. 9022660M 940 ML core ass'y. Part No. 348333A Configuration of P32CT 5 For separating samples containing much sediment or performing separation after increasing the density gradient, the 940 ml core ass'y increases the rotor capacity to 940 ml. The flow volume performance is about 35% less than that of standard cores. System flow diagram Rotor list Type Model (automatic) Max. speed Max.
