Math in Science helps you apply your math skills to solve science problems.

Math Test Preparation
Sunday, May 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This workshop is for students who are planning to write the apprenticeship entrance exam in the near
future. It illustrates the core skills in basic mathematics that will be necessary for writing the entrance
exam. Please feel free to join your students if you want to have an insight into the entrance exam.
Math in Science
Thursday, April 7th from 6: 00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for 10 weeks
This class is designed for students who would like to work on science skills that involve using math
skills. This is a foundation skill program and the curriculum is currently based on the Apprenticeship
Science.
Professional Development at Team Conference - May 28, 2016 at NorQuest College
The opportunities for PD are:
Outcomes and Roundtable - Learn about Outcomes and meet and share with other tutors.
Total Physical Response (TPR), which is a brilliant method for teaching someone a new
language. Facilitated by Adele Fontain.
Lead Effectively - gain tools for everyday living. Facilitated by Michael Bevan,
Dealing with Stress. Facilitated by Sue Paulson.
This is an opportunity to take training the same time as your student (there are workshops for students)
and meet other tutors, who tutor with P.A.L.S. and tutors from literacy programs from around the city.
