To All Rohrer Bus Employees
The holiday season is behind us and it is time to look towards to the future. I am extremely thankful and proud of what our
company has achieved in 2013. Your hard work and commitment has allowed our company to have another successful year.
We have enjoyed steady and solid demand for our services from all of our customers. In addition, we have continued to look for
ways to be more efficient and productive while providing the highest level of customer service. This combination has helped us
achieve a level of success that we need to continue growing our company.
We also welcome the addition of the Juniata County School District and the North Pocono School District to our family of pupil
transportation contracts. I am pleased with the transition that has taken place over the second half of 2013 and look forward to
these contracts enhancing the strength of our company for many years to come.
I am proud of the teamwork and commitment to customer service demonstrated by employees across the company that helps to
give us an advantage in the markets where we do business. We have demonstrated an ability to meet our challenges "head on" and
do what it takes to get the job done. As a result, our customers know they can count on our people and our services to help them
get their jobs done. For this I THANK YOU!
I am very optimistic about the new year and believe we will continue to be successful. With a continued focus on safety,
professionalism, and reliability, I am certain that our company will continue our long tradition of transportation success. I am
especially confident in this because we have an experienced and very talented team or professionals that
has shown the ability to rise and meet the toughest challenges. We should all take great pride that Rohrer

SAFETY INCENTIVE PROGRAM
The safety incentive program for 2012/13 has been completed.
Thirty-seven drivers were recognized for having five years of safe
driving. Rohrer shirts have been provided to these drivers for the
fine service. Lightweight jackets were provided to the twelve
drivers with ten years of safe driving, while three drivers received a
Rohrer vest for fifteen years of safe driving. One driver received an
all-weather jacket for twenty years and another received a watch
for thirty years of safe driving service. The recognition is certainly
deserved and supervisors made the presentation to their drivers.
BUSES REQUIRED TO STOP AT WEIGH STATIONS
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has passed a
regulation that all school buses must stop at weigh stations that
are signed for trucks and buses. They have indicated that all weigh
stations will be properly signed as early as possible. Since this is a
new rule, drivers need to be aware of the signs at all weigh stations
and if they are marked for buses, you must stop. The officers may
wave you through without being weighed but failure to pull in may
result in a citation. All drivers MUST comply.
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS (HAZMAT)
Rohrer Bus is required to comply with the OSHA requirements
regarding the HAZMAT update on container labeling. All
employees must receive this training in accordance with the law.
The safety department has provided a 15-minute video on this
training and has certified most employees by the December 2014
deadline. Employees not certified as of the date will be scheduled
individually as soon as possible in order to be in compliance. All
new employees will receive this training as part of the interview
process that is handled by the Human Resources Department.
ACT 126 UPDATE (CHILD ABUSE REPORTING)
The Act 126 (child abuse) training has been completed for all
Rohrer Bus drivers as of 12/31/13. John Allison and John Lowery
certified 697 employees of the company. Several employees that
were not certified because of medical leaves or other reasons will
be notified as to the requirements to continue in a driving capacity.
All new drivers hired by the company will receive this training
through the CDL certification program. This will allow for Rohrer
Bus Service to be in compliance with the law.
SLIPS, TRIPS, & FALLS
Slips, trips and falls continue to be a serious concern for the
employees of Rohrer Bus. The weather over the past several
months has not helped in avoiding the concern due to icy and
snowy conditions. In order to minimize or reduce all falls, drivers
at many locations have been provided ice tracs to improve
traction on slippery surfaces. Drivers that have been provided
these ice tracs will be required to wear them in icy and snowy
conditions. Drivers are reminded to always use caution on
slippery surfaces by using a three point stance whenever possible
and always take your time. Cinders have been provided at all lots
and should be used when needed. Drivers are always asked to
report unsafe conditions to your supervisor before an accident
occurs. It takes everyone to reduce or eliminate accidents!
NOTICES FROM THE PAYROLL DEPARTMENT
W-2’s have been issued and will be mailed to your home address –
please keep your W-2 in a safe place! If there is a need for a
duplicate or to replace a W-2, please contact the Payroll
Department at (717) 957-3811 to make the request.
It is very important for us to maintain correct information on YOU,
so please notify your supervisor if you have an address or phone
number change. If you have direct deposit and change banks,
accounts, etc., it is imperative that you contact the Payroll Dept.
before making any changes that may impact your money going to
a wrong account or bank. If this happens, it can take anywhere
from 3-5 days before a replacement check can be issued.
The direct deposit voucher or pay stub you receive is the original,
we can’t reproduce it - so please keep them in a safe place! Many
times we are asked to provide copies of the pay stubs and we
cannot accommodate these requests! If you’re financing, applying
for some type of assistance program, needing proof of income, etc.,
they will ask for pay stubs/vouchers, SO PLEASE KEEP THEM IN A
SAFE PLACE.
With tax filing season here, you may want to check your W-4, to see
if your filing status needs to be updated. If so, see your supervisor
or contact the Payroll Department for a 2014 W-4 or you may visit
www.irs.gov, look for the Forms and Pubs Section and print the W4
from the site. Return the completed form to either your supervisor
or direct to the Payroll Department at the Duncannon Office,
mailing address is P.O. Box 100, Duncannon, PA 17020.
