Dear Parents, The GYMREP team is ready, willing and eager to welcome your child to our yearly Summer Camp held in Chertsey, for an unforgettable stay that will remain forever etched in their collective memories! For your convenience, this practical and useful HANDBOOK containing information to ensure a wonderful fun-filled week for your child at Gymnastics and Outdoor Activities Camp! In all, more than 1500 athletes and coaches from more than 120 Clubs covering all corners of the world! ARRIVAL **IMPORTANT** Arrival times at Camp Boute-en-Train are from 11AM to 1PM 1 2 ARRIVAL and WELCOMING PROTOCOL Upon your arrival by car at the Boute-en-Train Camp Site, you will be warmly greeted by smiling staff members ready to show the way in and brief you if need be, on arrival procedures and point you in the right direction. As you proceed with your drive in, appointed guides will direct you to the LODGING SITES. Camp Counselors ready to assist you with your luggage and room set-up will then meet you. You are invited to stay for room set-up and by the same token, meet different Staff members who will be working with your child all through CAMP week. LODGING at GYMREP CAMP 3 Several lodging sites are available at Camp. The Site boasts 4 different blocks called PAVILIONS. FOUR WINDS, SNOWY OWL, TAWNY OWL, BEAR’S DEN. Rooms accommodating 4, 5 or 6 lodgers (Four Winds & Bears’ Den) Drawing rooms, 10 or 12 lodgers (Four Winds) 2 Dormitories accommodating 26 lodgers (Snowy Owl & Tawny Owl) Room set-up with the roomie of your choice (specified on your registration form) is guaranteed; however, lodging locations are decided according to groups or individual athletes registered at Camp for the week. We do take into account the specified roomie, age, spoken language and club. As soon as your child has settled into his living quarters, you may proceed to the parking area. Attendants will indicate the way to the parking lot and point out available spaces. Welcoming protocol for athletes and parents Registration begins at 11 AM. Should you arrive earlier, feel free to visit our Gymnastics Facilities, one of the most impressive in Canada! guIdeLInes Registration is a simple and important process. Guidelines: 1 Please go to the Reception Desk in main building 2 Go directly to the REGISTRAR. your child’s registration form be incomplete, please 3 Should have on hand any missing data; health insurance card, prescription meds, due balance on your bill etc ***For families from outside Québec, please give us the number and name of your insurance plan from your province, state or country.*** NOTICE: Your child may keep his Epipen kit and asthma meds with him. guIdeLInes Staff members will be on hand to gather 4 Different information on your child; medical, living quarters, groups, Option+ Clinics, private lessons, schedule, etc Our First Aid Staff will also be present. check your child’s hair prior to coming 5 Please to Camp. We have a zero tolerance policy on lice at Camp. If you feel uncomfortable with this procedure, Staff members will be available to assess and check your child’s hair. As soon as registration is completed, feel free to roam around the grounds or simply browse and shop at our BOUTIQUE, or eat a bite at our RepStaurant. ** Please note that debit and credit cards are NOT accepted at GymRep. ** guIdeLInes French presentation introducing all of our 6 Atrainers and counselors at GYMREP CAMP will be held at 2 PM, under the tent next to the Boutique. For our English speaking parents and athletes, a special presentation will be held to assure full comprehension of all aspects of GYMREP CAMP WEEK. for parents is due at 3 PM, following 7 Departure the closing words of our 45 minute presentation. « TIME TO SAY GOOD-BYE»! **No other visiting hours, no phone calls, are permitted during CAMP week. ** Saturday morning demonstration training On this last day of CAMP, you are cordially invited to view our very last training session as of 10AM. For parents of athletes staying on for more than one week, please advise us if you plan to leave the site with your child. As soon as DEMONTRATIONS TRAINING is over, the athletes staying on will meet at a specific rallying point, so their counselor can take charge of them. Athletes and parents may purchase hot-dogs and refreshments at the Repstaurant! Please tag all your items with your name (clothing, gear, etc) as they will not be returned to you upon your departure. All unclaimed items will be donated to local charities. **We (The Camp) are not responsible for any lost items** Stolen items Please do not bring any valuables to Camp. No cells, laptops, jewelry etc. A locker will be at your disposal in order to minimize the risks. Don't forget your lock! **We (The Camp) are not responsible for any lost items** Security Please make sure that your child's nails are trimmed (rather short) to prevent any injuries. Fingernails they were not born with are off limits. No resin, silk, acrylic or glue-on is permitted. It’s fun because it’s off limits!!!! Try out the POPCORN SLUSHIES and SLURPIES SOFT DRINKS CANDIES etc We are not responsible for any theft. So, stash your cash in a safe place! NO MONEY, NO CANDY!!! As a rule, most parents allow a 30$ to 40$ budget for the week for purchases at the DANGER ZONE bOuTIque OUR BOUTIQUE YOU MAY PURCHASE ANY ITEM FROM OUR GYMREP COLLECTION. The Boutique is open on Saturdays and Sundays only. Why not come and check out our NEW GYMREP COLLECTION. Shorts, leotards (body suits), hoodies, and pants. Our grip bags and socks are very trendy! Drop in and browse, you never know what will tickle your fancy! Don’t leave without our OFFICIAL GYMREP T-Shirt, a must to take home with you! CASH AND CREDIT CARDS ONLY CAfeTeRIA Cafeteria Boute-en-Train Camp is known for its “ 4 Forks” Cafeteria. The GymReps will receive 3 daily healthy and nutritious meals as well as an afternoon and evening snack. A salad bar is available at every meal, fare to please any finicky eater. Because of the growing number of nut and peanut allergies, GymRep Gymnastics Camp was declared PEANUT FREE! If your child has other allergies, please advise us so we can take the necessary precautions to ensure her safety. You may even meet with the kitchen staff, if you wish to do so. IMPORTANT Make sure you are aware of the food your child packs in his travel bag OpTIOns These specialized Option + Clinics are offered to you upon arrival when you sign in. You may also add on extra clinics during the week. Option + Clinics are extra training sessions that last an hour, in the evening, under the supervision of several trainers. The ratio is 1 coach to 5 athletes. These clinics enable you to learn or improve precise movements in restrained groups. Option + Clinics are given in the evenings, from Sundays through Thursdays. The FEE for an Option + Clinic is of 25$ ** P.S : If your child wants to add extra evening sessions, we need your authorization at your arrival at camp. PRIVATE LESSONS If you require a private one on one type of clinic, these are given during the afternoon. You can work with the trainer of your choice. It’s all about YOU for the entire hour. Lessons are given from Monday to Friday, in the afternoon. The FEE for private lessons is OF 75$ Private lessons for the flying trapeze are also available. CASH ONLY A FREE WEEK AT CAMP!!!! Once more this summer we will hold our annual draw for a free week at Camp. We are looking for 5 or 6 volunteers to handle BBQ Duties on Saturday from 10AM to 1PM during demonstration training.
