EDUCATION PROGRAM Soul Drums Inc. Soul Drums Ltd. will provide an interactive, high energy, high impact kick-off! During this thoroughly collaborative session, this group will focus on ‘value-centred leadership’, inclusive leadership and conscious behaviour — what a way to ENGAGE!! You will see how value centre leadership will positively affect your bottom line and improve the overall health and team effectiveness of employee to management relationships. Dr. Bill Webster: It’s All Good. Right? Br. Webster will look at current societal attitudes towards aging, death and grief from a new perspective, and how we can understand and communicate more realistically with people who find themselves in those situations and at our doorsteps. People today talk about good death, good aging, good funerals and good grief. But why does our society insist that everything must be “good”? Dr. Bill Webster is a grief counsellor, author, TV host and increasingly well known international speaker. Bill Carr: Deep Service: A Call to A Higher Level Using humour and a rich sense of humanity, Bill helps his audience explore how each individual, at every level of an organization, and the organization as a whole, can re-craft and reframe their work life and personal life to be one of “Deep Service”. You will laugh, you will think; and you will change! Deep Service explores the idea of servant leadership in specific industry context. Bill has performed on stages across the country. He has written and performed in radio drama and news programs for CBC and has appeared on countless television programs. Linda Stuart, Linda Lee and Michelle Methven: Stella’s Story Some stories need to be told, and some stories we will never forget. Stella’s story is one of those. Diagnosed with DIPG at the age of two and given 3 months to live, Stella’s parents were determined that even if they “couldn’t add days to her life, they would add life to her days.” While planning the funeral with Stella’s family, the funeral director and the lifecycle celebrant come to learn valuable lessons in what it truly takes to help a family celebrate life while enduring such a devastating loss. Their experience will encourage you to re-evaluate the role you play with every family you deal with and to inspire you to become better at what you do. Linda Stuart is Founder of Seasons Change Ceremonies; Linda Lee has been a licensed funeral director with Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries and Funeral Homes; Michelle Methven shares her experience from the perspective of a grieving family member and reminds us of the impact our jobs have on those we have been given the privilege to serve. Michelle’s message to our profession is a powerful one and inspires all who hears it.
