TECHNOLOGY
3-D Strap
TUSA’s patented 3-D strap is a true
three-dimensional design that snugly fits
against the head’s natural curvature. The
3-D strap offers unprecedented comfort and
fit unlike standard flat mask straps.
Round Edge Skirt
TUSA’s Round Edge Skirt features a
proprietary round edge cross-sectionally
shaped skirt. This rounded edge results in a
soft fit that suppresses pressure and
reduces creasing left on the face. The
“planar fit, instead of linear fit” silicone skirt
maintains great fit and unprecedented
comfort.
5 Angle Strap Adjustor
The 5 Angle Strap Adjustor allows for a five
position micro-adjustment on both the left
and right sides of the mask. This enables
vertical (up/down) and horizontal (left/right)
pressure on the face to be delicately
adjusted for the optimum fit.
Skirt Mounted Quick Adjust Buckle System
The Quick-Adjust Buckle System incorporates a newly-designed low-profile buckle
into the crystal silicone skirt of the mask. The
result is a compact, lightweight, technologically advanced mask design that can be
easily and quickly adjusted for a perfect fit.
Anti-Reflective (A/R) Lens Treatment
Standard glass lenses can reflect up to 15%
of available light reducing vision underwater.
TUSA’s Anti-Reflective (A/R) Lens
Treatment decreases internal and external
reflected light. This reduction increases light
transmission to 95% resulting in significantly
enhanced color, clarity, contrast and better
overall vision underwater.
UV Lens Treatment
Increased exposure to UV light can damage
the eyes especially in marine environments
where reflectivity is high. TUSA’s UV Lens
Treatment provides 100% protection from
harmful UVA and UVB rays. Blocking 100%
of the ultraviolet spectrum (under 400nm)
provides greater eye protection without
sacrificing light transmission or vision.
Hyperdry Purge
Clearing a mask has never been easier
thanks to our patented Hyperdry System.
Simply breathe out through your nose and
any water that has accumulated in your
mask is forced out through a one-way purge
valve. Once the mask is clear, the valve
seals shut.

[PAT.P.]
• Reduced inner volume compared to traditional
single-lens masks
• Five angle strap adjustor
• 2.5 times increase in field of vision
• Reduced inner volume
The lens and frame have been made bigger, but since the
distance between the lens and the eyes has been reduced,
the inner volume has actually been reduced in comparison
with other traditional single-lens masks. Thus, clearing the
mask, as before, is easy to do. Since the fitting line is large in
proportion to the large size of the mask and because of the
thinness of the frame, the mask is also more resistant to
moving even in a current.
• Five angle strap adjustor
The M-14 features a five-position strap angle adjustor to make
fine adjustments for the vertical fitting of the mask possible. By
making changes and setting the left and right strap angles,
fine adjustments to the vertical fitting, which were not possible
on masks until now, can be made quickly and easily.

Hyperdry MAX System
TUSA’s Hyperdry MAX System (pat p.) is
the latest innovation in dry snorkel technology utilizing two independent high buoyancy
floats for superior dry performance. This
revolutionary design keeps the snorkel
completely dry by quickly and efficiently
closing the gasket when waves or water hits
the snorkel.
Hyperdry System
The Hyperdry System keeps the main pipe
dry by ejecting water through an independent escape pipe. This unique design
utilizes the angle of the snorkel pipe and the
resilience of the water surface to eject water.
Comfort Swivel
The Comfort Swivel offers a more comfortable fit since it creates no load on the
mouthpiece, straightens out during diving
and doesn't get in the way. The swivel
adapter makes it possible to slip the mask
strap into the slit with no hassles. The
two-part construction allows the snorkel to
rotate and can be attached in a horizontal

Even with a light bite, a high level of stability and comfort is
achieved, so there is no jaw fatigue from long periods of
usage. The mouthpiece can also be replaced easily and as
necessary.
• High flow channel and purge valve
The periphery of the valve always remains at the lowest point
even when snorkeling upright at the water surface, so water is
easily cleared at all times. It prevents gurgling or sucking
water when breathing.
• Detachable comfort swivel
The Comfort Swivel offers a more comfortable fit since it
creates no load on the mouthpiece, straightens out during

TECHNOLOGY
Propeller Technology
TUSA’s advanced split fins employ
Propeller-Fin™ Technology, which delivers
ultra-high performance with a low amplitude
rapid flutter kick. As the fin moves through
the water its two wing-shaped surfaces
create lift and forward propulsion like a
propeller. Any water traveling over the top of
the blade is funneled into and out of the split
between the blades. Efficiency is increased
while drag and effort is reduced.
Angled Blade Design (A.B.D.)
TUSA’s Angled Blade Design is employed
on the SF-15, SF-8 and SF-6 fins.
A standard flat fin inhibits propulsion solely
by fault of design. An angle between the
heel of the foot and the calf of the leg
remains when the leg is extended to kick.
This angle causes 10% of the propulsion to
be lost. The Angled Blade Design accommodates for this anatomical characteristic and
ensures maximum efficiency throughout the
kicking cycle.
EZ Strap and Buckle System
TUSA’s EZ strap and Buckle System allows
fins to be quickly and easily adjusted with
minimal effort. Adjustment can be made
while the fins are worn, allowing for a
precise fit and ease of removal when
necessary.

An angle between the heel of the foot and the calf of the leg

10% of the propulsion to be lost. TUSA’s patented 27°angled
blade design employed on the SF-15 X-Pert Zoom Z-3
accommodates for this anatomical characteristic and ensures
maximum efficiency throughout the kicking cycle. This means
that 100% of the energy expended during the kicking phase is
used for forward diver propulsion. Simply, TUSA’s SF-15 X-Pert

Fins with world-class efficiency, making the most
of your energy
In 1993 TUSA introduced the SF-7700 (IMPREX fin) to
the market. This fin achieves strong propulsion by
combining two different materials to create an efficient
water channeling action. Since it first went on sale, over
600,000 divers have used it worldwide. The IMPREX fin
has been the undisputed leader in the plastic fin market.
Now, ten years later, it is moving to the next development
stage. The next generation IMPREX Tri-Ex fin utilizes
three different materials. First is the side rib (hard
material), efficiently converting the energy of a kick into
propelling power. Second is the blade (medium-hard
material), increasing the efficiency of the water channel.
Third is the soft pocket (soft material), enhancing the
fitting comfort of the boots. The designers expanded the
blade angle theory that had produced a strong propulsion
force with only a light kick in the SF-8 model. A fin testing
robot was used to analyze on a computer the propulsion
(speed) and the electrical load when kicking. Tests were
also run using real divers in a water circulating pool.
These tests were repeated many times, the result being
that the blade angle was set at 20 degrees, the most
comfortable for the diver. A smooth shape was also
created, with no level differences between the foot pocket
and blade. This means that compared with conventional
products, less initial load (energy) is required when first
starting to kick. The excellent fit and non-wasteful
transmission of energy ensures that body fatigue and air
consumption is minimized.

27° Tech Reasons
When using the standard, flat fin, propulsion is inhibited solely
by fault of design. When the leg is completely extended, there
remains an angle of 27 degrees between the heel of the foot
and the calf of the leg, as shown in the diagram. This 27-degree
angle causes 10% of the propulsion that is produced by the
kicking motion to be lost. Because the fin is angled below the
body, during the kick phase, the body is pushed up and toward,
instead of straight ahead. With a normal flat fin, 10% of the
diver’s exertion to propel him forward is lost by battling this
upward force. With the SF-8 fin, that 27-degree angle has been
incorporated into the fin. This means that when the leg is fully
extended, even though the angle exists between the foot and
calf, the fin ends up parallel to the leg. 100% of the energy
expended during the kicking phase is directed toward the
propulsion of the diver.

• Dry Ambient Pressure Chamber
The dry ambient pressure chamber on the R-700 prevents
water contact with the diaphragm and spring maximizing
performance, at any depth, in cold water conditions below
50°F/10°C.
S-90 (2nd Stage)
This design allows warming of
the critical internal first stage
parts that can freeze due to the
gas pressure drops and low
temperatures.
• High Flow Ports
Two high flow low pressure ports are available on the
R-700 in addition to two standard LP ports and 2 HP
ports. The high flow ports are positioned near the
diaphragm and offer up to a 15% increase in air flow.
• Ideal for Cold Water Environments
The R-700 is engineered for cold water diving. It features a
ribbed top cap section that acts like a radiator to increase the
surface area for heat transfer.
2nd Stage
• Pneumatically Balanced System
The S-90 second stage is a pneumatically balanced
design. A small chamber positioned at the end of the
poppet assembly traps air and forces the poppet back
against the intermediate pressure orifice. This
provides decreased inhalation resistance and
increases smooth breathing in all conditions.
• Venturi Adjustment Lever
The S-90 is equipped with a built-in Venturi
adjustment lever. Two positions are selectable by the
diver. Use Surface or the minimum setting when
entering the water or on the surface, reducing the
sensitivity and possible free flow of the second stage.

The Sequential Exhaust Assist (S.E.A.) is a revolutionary
new second stage design featuring a dual exhaust system.
The S.E.A. system consists of an enlarged primary and an
auxiliary exhaust. The auxiliary exhaust, located on top of
the S-80 elliptical case, works in union with the primary to
significantly decrease exhalation resistance.
• Moisture Exchange Plate
The S-80 second stage incorporates a moisture exchange
plate that captures condensation produced by inhalation
and exhalation efforts. This condensation increases the
humidity of the air breathed and helps to reduce that “dry
mouth” sensation often experienced while diving.
Exhalation resistance directly affects the diver’s natural
breathing cycle. By reducing this resistance or increasing
exhalation performance, the diver breathes more naturally
and comfortably reducing respiration rate and air
consumption. Paired with the R-600 first stage, the S-80
offers a seemingly effortless underwater experience
regardless of the workload.
• Universal swivel hose joint
• Venturi Adjustment Lever
The addition of a venturi adjustment lever on the S-80 allows
the regulator to power assist the diver when underwater
For optimum performance and comfort, a swivel joint is
fitted between the second stage of the RS-680.
• Breathing resistance adjustment knob
With the S-80 you simply rotate the flow adjustment knob
on the side with its ideal click feeling for free control of the
air supply volume according to your needs. The multiple
thread screws allow speedy and fine adjustment in which
you can appropriately sense resistance to exhaled air to a

also provides you with easy-to-operate buoyancy
control. The Inflator Regulator is positioned at
the end of the buoyancy compensator hose --the
ideal location for quick, efficient use. Because
you use it as your power inflator, you always
know where it's located. Plus, the Inflator
Regulator cuts down on hose clutter because you
use the same hose to supply both the power
inflator and the backup regulator.

• Independent Harness System
• Ultimate Stabilizing Harness
• Advanced Weight Loading System (A.W.L.S.)
The Independent Harness System
isolates the BC jacket's harness
from the air cell, tightly supporting
the tank even with changes in air
cell inflation/deflation. The I.H.S.
prevents tank slippage and
eliminates any gaps between the
tank and your back. The BCJ-4000
is equipped with TUSA’s next
generation I.H.S. featuring an
integrated carry handle, additional
adjustability to dial in a perfect fit
and a neutrally buoyant
construction allowing the diver to
remove approximately 1kg/2.2lbs
from their system.
TUSA's Ultimate Stabilizing
Harness completely eliminates
tank roll and delivers an amazing
fit. The U.S.H. securely holds the
air cylinder in place with
optimally placed rails and brings
the tank closer to the body
increasing tank control while
reducing weight.
The A.W.L.S. allows the diver to insert weights into the
weight-cartridges and loading them easily into the front
of the BC jacket. Additionally, with weight distribution to
the shoulder area, the weighted-down feeling that is
traditionally associated with weight belts is eliminated.
4kg/8lbs. (maximum: 6kg/12lbs.) of weight can be
placed in each of the left and right sides, and two
pockets on the rear of the jacket can each hold up to
2kg/4lbs. of additional weight. (Total recommended
weight: 10kg/20lbs.; maximum: 16kg/32lbs.) The
weight cartridge is easy to release in an emergency,
but the safety lock makes sure that it is not released
accidentally.
• Waist Support System
The Waist Support System significantly enhances comfort and
fit by dispersing the weight load around the hips. The W.S.S.
integrates the adjustable shoulder harness system with the
rear stabilizing plate and cummerbund to effectively unload
the hips while ensuring a snug fit.
• 3-D Foam Padded Lumbar and Backpad
The Soverin backpad area is
constructed of a newly
developed 3-dimensional foam.
This material is positioned in
high density compartmentalized
regions for the lumbar and back
to offer a superior contoured fit
and to maximize comfort.
• Adjustable Sternum Strap
The chest strap limits the
opening of the shoulder
straps for a more comfortable
fit. By simply sliding the strap
up or down,the user can
customize the adjustment to
the ideal position.

Active Purge Assist System
What's is it?
ACTIVE PURGE ASSIST
A.P.A.
The A.P.A. or Active Purge Assist is revolutionary new
pneumatically assisted inflate/deflate system available
exclusively on and for TUSA BCJ's.
• Revolutionary pneumatic assisted purge
system for TUSA BCJ’s
The system looks like a standard BC inflator, but it's not.
In fact, the A.P.A. has several design and performance
enhancements that sets it apart from the rest.
• Newly designed OPEV immediately
responds to user input
A newly designed OPEV (Over Pressure Exhaust Valve)
and low profile in-line corrugated hose is coupled to the
A.P.A. inflator body offering precise buoyancy control and
adjustment at your fingertips.
• Achieve perfect buoyancy with precise
fingertip controls
• Increased flow rates (inflate/deflate) for
better performance over standard inflators
• Streamlined design reduces drag and
bulkiness
• 3 ways to purge a BCJ – APA pneumatic,
standard pull dump, exhaust from oral
inflator
• Designed for low maintenance and easy
care decreasing inflator malfunctions
Uniquely, the system can be mounted on the BCJ in a
variety of ways including:
1. Traditional, over the shoulder
2. Underarm, positioned a pocket/hip*
3. Underarm, positioned in center chest - ideal for
handicapped divers*
* Requires TC-753 Mounting Strap
Routing the A.P.A. under the arm positions it in the hip
area offering quick access and a more streamlined setup.
In addition, the center-chest position can aid buoyancy
control for some handicapped divers.
How does it work?
The A.P.A. power controls are precise and allow for
fine-tuning buoyancy by utilizing a very small amount of
air from the cylinder. The pneumatically assisted power
deflation along with the newly designed OPEV dramatically increases flow rates - resulting in an immediate and
ultra-efficient purging of the air-cell.
The system offers 3 ways to purge your BCJ:
1. A.P.A. power deflate
2. Standard pull dump
3. Exhaust from oral inflator
• Optional on TUSA BCJ’s or as add-on
accessory

In order to reduce the weight, the previous long rail type Ultimate
Stabilizing Harness has been redesigned into a more compact
size. Of course, the superior concept of the Ultimate Stabilizing

The harness is compact and yet tightly holds the tank, preventing
it from slipping or shaking whether in the sea or on land.
• 3-D bladder assures greatest buoyancy with compact size
By adding an extremely expandable spandex, a
three-dimensional air cell, inner volume has been greatly
increased. The benefit is a more compact design with greater
buoyancy. Also, the BCJ-6910 uses a 420D Nylon for optimum

area, the weighted-down feeling that is traditionally associated
with weight belts is eliminated. 4kg/8lbs. (maximum: 6kg/12lbs.)
of weight can be placed in each of the left and right sides, and
two pockets on the rear of the jacket can each hold up to
2kg/4lbs. of additional weight. (Total recommended weight:
10kg/20lbs.; maximum: 16kg/32lbs.) The weight cartridge is
easy to release in an emergency, but the safety lock makes
sure that it is not released accidentally.

Advanced Weight Loading
System (A.W.L.S.)
In order to reduce the weight, the previous long rail type
Ultimate Stabilizing Harness has been redesigned into a
more compact size. Of course, the superior concept of the
Ultimate Stabilizing Harness remains the same, with two
rails firmly securing the tank. The harness is compact and
yet tightly holds the tank, preventing it from slipping or
shaking whether in the sea or on land.
• 3-D bladder assures greatest buoyancy with
compact size
By adding an extremely expandable spandex, a
three-dimensional air cell, inner volume has been greatly
increased. The benefit is a more compact design with
greater buoyancy. Also, the BCJ-6900 uses a 420D Nylon for
optimum strength and durability.

Cylindrical tanks are inherently unstable because they are
prone to roll around. Most hard harness type BC jackets
are basically designed like a flat board onto which the tank

TECHNOLOGY
Vibrating Alarm
TUSA is the world’s only equipment manufacturer
with vibrating alarm technology. This patented
unique alarm function is similar to the vibration
setting on most cellular telephones. The user is
alerted to important dive data with several
vibrations instead of an audible alarm that can
distract your dive partners.
Audible Alarm
TUSA’s computers feature audible and visual
alarms for the most important dive data warnings.
Ascent rate, maximum depth, no decompression
limits, safety stop and several other key data can
be set to alert the diver.
2 Gas Mix
This feature allows the diver to preset two Nitrox
gas mixtures (Mix 1 and Mix 2) for easy switching
during the dive as necessary. Mix 1: 21 to 50%,
Mix 2: 21 to 99%.
PC Downloadable
TUSA’s Divelogbook and TUSA DataLog PC
interfaces allow the diver to transfer complete log
and profile history from the dive computer to a
personal computer or upload user settings to the
computer. A PC interface unit is sold separately.
Air Integration
TUSA’s Zen Integration technology allows a diver
to monitor depth, dive time and tank pressure
accurately and safely in a single glance. The
need for bulky analog gauge consoles is gone.
TUSA’s alphanumeric digital display conveys air
data efficiently each updated second.
