Cottonwood and Verde Valley “Neighbors” helped collect over 30,000lbs of food this Holiday season for the Old Town Mission. While a portion of food collected is used in our Holiday Food Boxes, much of it stocks our pantry for the next 6-7 months when we participate in the National Letter Carrier Food Drive. Every week we have over 400 families requesting assistance and this food is given to anyone who needs it. The following businesses participated in this year’s Fall Food Drives: Curves, Tae Kwon Do, Denny’s, Pepe’s Café, Larry Green Chevrolet, Hyundai, Mr. Rooter, Verde Valley Smiles, Mingus High School, FFA, CMS, CES, American Heritage, MVP, Clarkdale Jerome School, Montessori School, Accelerated Learning, Elks Lodge, American Legion, Clarkdale Baptist Church, Safeway, Fry’s, TKD Unlimited Martial Arts, Yavapai County, Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce, Wal-Mart, Yavapai Broadcasting. We look forward to serving our community in new and supportive ways as we discover new needs and have a volunteer base to help. Verde Valley residents and businesses truly care about and for those in need. That was exampled in 2014 as private donors, businesses and organizations helped us provide clothing, food and hot meals to 37,000 individuals and families in need. Your financial support allowed us to pay a small staff and keep our doors open and for that, we thank you. The Old Town Mission anticipates a greater need in 2015 and your continued support will be greatly appreciated. The things we get in life can make us a living...the things we give to people can make a life.... Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up !!!! As 2014 comes to an end, we begin to look back on the things we have accomplished and all too often the things that we just didn’t seem to have time to get to. Looking back though I would encourage you to focus on what you did accomplish, focus on the things that truly matter. The Old Town Mission was blessed in so many ways. Each of us can look back and say I helped make a difference in someone’s life by giving to the Old Town Mission. Looking forward to 2015, I encourage you to come down to the Old Town Mission, take a tour and see the difference you can make by joining with us as we strive to be “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”.
